The car of my dreams

The car of my dreams

Postby Guest » Fri Mar 06, 2009 4:01 am

This week, I bought the car of my dreams, a Civic Hybrid. I would perfer to own it over any other car, except of course a more expensive one which I could sell, then buy the Civic. (except the Tesla car, which is in extemely limited production)

A lot of guys spend a tremendous amount of money on the car they want and I don't really understand this. Specfically guys will pay several thousand more for a high-preformance car, but it is a car that is horribly inefficent, in that it gets 10-15 mpg. My Civic gets 45 mpg, so it does a much better job at it's function of moving me from point A to point B. I simply do not get what it is that other people are willing to pay so much more for, especially considering their car requires much more oil--a declining resource to move them around.

So why is it that people make what seems to be highly irrational choices when it comes to car selection? Is there something I am simply not seeing here?

Yes there is something you are missing! The things you find "important" in a car are totally different than the people who buy these "irrational" vehicles you speak of!

From reading your post I'd say you value efficiency and don't care about speed, sound, handling, styling, nor sex appeal that irrational cars definitely have. Fine with me, I think a Civic is rather boring & gay. Civics to me are kind of like plain jane women. Yep they'll do in a pinch, but will never keep my interest. I go for the "stripper hot" girl who turns heads when she walks into a room........and thats the kind of vehicles I drive too.

Yep I'm one of those who drives "irrational" vehicles. I can't help myself. Every vehicle I own is "irrational". So I'll keep driving my 380hp, 430ftlbs of torque, supercharged excitement that gets me from point A to B just like your little Civic does. There's just something about doing 150mph down the freeway that really gets me excited.

ps. My tires are bald again.....I need about $1400 for a new set of Eagle F1's then I'll be good to go for another 18,000miles! woo just think of all the oil that went into making those tires.

pss. The car I race gets about 3mpg and the engine needs rebuilt every 600miles. It holds about 17quarts of oil that gets changed every 25miles! :-) But 650hp at 8000rpm makes my fucking cock hard and no woman has ever come close to satisfying me like that car does.

This car stuff is really no different than perhaps one's choice in Vodka. Some folks value "price" over "flavor" You can drink Smirnoff or Goose.......I really don't care what you drink but I'm rolling with the Goose or nothing.

Go cars with sex appeal!
Thats what I care about too.
Plus it's just totally different driving a firebird then driving a jimmy lol.
It's much more exciting.
Driving down the freeway when you are passing a semi and you look to your left, you're staring straight at the damn wheel of that thing! It could crush you easily, if it could catch you ;)

I do own a Mustang, but was referring to my Lightning!

And one more thing WF, when gas gets to $4 a gallon I ride an irrational crotch rocket. I know, I know......a Vespa would have done me just fine! Sorry dude I guess I need the "coolness" factor to bolster my ego! .......and cool ain't cheap either.

Hang on to that Lightning! they're going to be worth $$$ some day (hell they already are)

I don't see how an American male could drive such a puss-mobile (and be so happy about it) they're boring, and slow (though I hear the hybrids have a shitload of torque) I would never be caught dead in one...

I'd rather get 10 mpg in my Elco than 45 mpg in a wimp-mobile
