We should make shirts for this paintball event, and have this as the quote across the back.
Westfall will not be in attendance this time around. This is both a plus and a minus. The plus is we'll save a shit load on paint since he wont be there to waste it all. The minus is we don't have a sure "easy out"/practice dummy to shoot.

If you buy your stuff you could easily spend $500 for your own gear.

I have my own set up.
If you don't plan on playing often or very much, then you can rent the gear at most paintball places, although their gear is typically a little older, most times they have dependable guns that are pretty decent.
You can rent the gear for about $25 bucks to $40 per 2 hours but typically fields will let you keep using their equipment as long as they have more to rent out to others. For instance the one we went to both of the last times we could have played all day on $25 ** paint not included.
Either way you go you still have to buy your own box (or share) of paint. That is the most expensive part. you can expect 25 for a box of paint, and depending on how active you are on the field you could go through a box in an hour. If we have a couple of new guys they can more than likely share the cost and you can buy the paint from the pro shop there on the field. Even the veterans can share but they'll go through paint a little faster probably.
If you're Westfall you'll just sit in a corner and dump your, and other peoples, paint on the ground and then jam your gun up by sticking paintballs you found on the ground back into your gun.
If you have never played before, I would budget $50+ for this event.***
If you have played before, I would budget $75+ for this event.***

If you play all the time then screw you and I hope you come so I can ram 30 bps up your A**. :)
It is not at all uncommon for more advanced players to spend $150 or better in paint for 4 hours of play.
This isn't a cheap event but it is a hell of a lot of fun and will provide for good time stories that you can use to show the ladies you really do have friends. Everybody should bring as many people as they can, there are plenty of fields to play on and plenty of room to lay out the guns and bullshit around. I would recommend everyone bring at least 1 other person, girls are welcome.
I recommend blocking off AT LEAST 5 to 6 hours (including drive times) of the Sunday. It come be disappointing when the time flies by and you still have a half a case of paint left and you have only played 2 games. Anything else and you are doing yourself a disservice and not getting the full effect.
I will be bringing a cooler with water a couple of cases of water. If you come, I'd recommend bringing refreshments (snackable food, drinks) of your preference. I ll have a cooler for you to keep it in, or bring your own to ensure you have some place to keep it.
Since I am planning on a Sunday there should be quite a few people (non community) who come out regularly and play paintball so there will be people to socialize with. Don't be a dick, and don't go to "sarge", if you are a dick more than likely it will result of a gang bang on the field were others will probably unload on you. Expect that the only women that will be there will be with boyfriends who probably play regularly. Expect a sausage fest (unless we bring the girls).
Don't wear white or light colors, unless you don't care about that particular piece of clothing, as it will stain. You'll want to dress in loose fitting clothes, it eases the impact, and you might want to consider at least 2 layers.
A few more details, the guns shoot paintballs at about 300 feet per second. The guns are semi automatics (every time you pull the trigger it shoots). The guns that were used last time were Piranhas.
Different fields have different guns. Depending on the field we go to will determine the type of gun it is, although most rentals are basically the same. Don't expect a Cadillac, but don't think you're gonna get a crappy pump action either.
Which leads me to this question, of the guys who went, do you want to stay at the same location or do we want to go to a different field?
Fun on the run I highly recommend, I haven't played there but I hear it's tops. They have 10 different fields and a couple of different rental gun packages. an all day park pass is like $10 and the rental (depending on the package rages from $23.10 to $32.32 for all day (i think). It is located in on the North west side of Ft. Worth off of loop 820.
