jjdog18, your opinions are greatly appreciated, bud.

you said:
"seriously there is so much negativity on this thread"
*It's cool if you want to blame the negativity of the thread on me.

"Bull Run was just stating his opinion, and he could have chose some nicer words in there but maybe nice words just don't fit his character
don't bash him because of what he thinks"
*So was I. I was stating my opinion. I chose not to use nicer words. It doesn't fit my character. I didn't bash him.

"I understand you are sticking up for the little guy but they might not even read this post
and if they do they don't know Bull Run
so why should it matter to them?"
*I just wonder why you are defending him because I wasn't trying to insult him.

"on the other hand tho
Bull Run saying he is nothing to you
that was a little childish
you may be good at PU
and you may even be better than him at it
but that does not make you better than him at life"
*I do not recall such a claim. I feel you are saying as if his life is better than anyone's.

"we are all human
he was just stating his opinion on your subject"
*Like I said, I was just stating my opinion on his subject.

"there is a reason why these threads are public, so we can have public opinion on our ideas and experiences"
*Who is trying to make these thread more private now?

"if you do not want comments on your thoughts
then do not post a thread"
*Anyone is welcome to reply on my thoughts. If you are easily offended, you really shouldn't be on any forums.

"keep in mind
I mean only to pacify by this post"
*I'm not taking him as serious as you think. I think it's funny if my mob boss quote disturbed the peace of this thread.

BullRun, I understand your anger. I try my best as i can to go out with you guys but I am in Austin for the semester. However, I've shared DVDs, and some advice that I've gathered over the past two years of keyboard jockeying. I've been close in touch with Phase and Matrix. I came back in town for my sister's bday and I went out of my way to go to NPark Mall with them for day game.

i've been trying to stay out of this as i am very opinionated, and i could destroy your religion if i desired. however i cannot remain silent regarding this blatant disrespect that has become prevalent in the most recent threads. i believe elders should be respected especially when your in said forum relying on their advice to improve in their sport. one must acknowledge that some of us are not 3 mo old to the community and didn't get into pickup b/c of a show on vh1 that we watched sitting on our parents couch.
this thread is a tool, and if you do not know how to use a tool properly it does you no good whatsoever.
there should not be hard feelings in this forum; and if ones intent is to create them or agitate other's, they should go angrily create personal knuckle children to low resolution porn clips.

I don't know where this notion that I'm angry came from. I'm just saying that I find it disappointing that a lot of the noobs aren't active.

The 'elders' take a lot of pride in this forum. We understand that it's not OURS, but EVERYONE's. We kept this thing humming for a long time and we understand that ultimately it will be passed onto newer guys. What's frustrating is that there doesn't seem to be a lot of respect for the forum and its content from the newer guys.

The tone of this thread has gotten off course. The 'anger' you're picking up on was a direct result of an obsurd acquisation that the point of this post was to insult one person in particular. A notion that I find hillarious considering that a very similiar post was made by playercool without any problems. As a matter of fact, someone even asked if it was directed at someone in particular. I think what needs to be understood is that if anyone has a problem with any one person, the 'laundry' will be aired in private. No one is out to get anyone on these boards. The reason is two-fold: 1) we have better things to do than worry about attacking, indirectly, other people 2) we're all here to help each other.

I don't spend my time worrying about what guys on these boards think of me, its only the ones that I've met in real life that I concern myself with. But, when someone calls me to task and challenges my virtue I'm going to push back.

Sure, some might frame it as weak. That's fine. But, anything can be framed as weak. The notion that the purpose behind this post was to insult Vin can be framed as weak too. I mean what strong person would really make some kind of ridiculous connection between this post and an 'Off Topic' post about politics? Only a sensitive, weak person would do such a thing. Right?

You see how stupid this has become? This dynamic of calling out someone's frame is an overwhelming problem in the Community. It's all about perception. You can twist a person's frame however you see fit. It's one of those weird things that people do that are in the Community, and it's especially problematic from people that you've never met and are new to the forum. Calling someone you don't know 'weak' on an Internet forum is cowardly.

The thing that really bothers me is that people like that are in our Community. We have no filtering process, we just accept anyone. Which goes back to my previous mention of the level of pride that the 'elders' have in our Community. It's disrespectful, period. You can disagree all you want, I know I did when I started.

You can call me what you wish, but don't shit all over the Community. Don't disrespect what we've helped to build and what we, sometimes struggle, to maintain. What all of the noobs out there need to understand is that the forum, and it's culture, will resonate as time goes by. When you have people like Vin who have, blantantly and very obviously, derived enjoyment out of stirring up shit with others on the boards it eats away at the integrity of the forum. The forum is where we come together and it manifests itself to meeting in person. Then, we share ideas, thoughts, strategies, theories, routines, etc, etc. We sarge together and we forge friendships. I've made some great friends during my tenor here. Most of which I value more than the countless number of women I've bedded in the past. None of these friendships would have been possible if not for this forum. It starts here. This is why we have to make sure we continue to hold the forums to a high standard.

Should I have shot off at Vin? Damn straight. I was defending my virtue and, more importantly, the virtue of our forum. This is bigger than any one person. So, when someone blantanly disrespects the boards the way Vin has (read Off Topic, his intro which was very clearly one with a tone of superiority, and his comments earlier in this thread) then you have to rise up and slap them down. Period.

If I, or any one else I know, had met him in person, this would be worlds different. There are guys that I know in person on here that I routinely disagree with, but do you ever think either one of us would have an exchange like that which Vin and I shared? Hell no. There's a mutual respect when you know for sure that someone else is walking the same path as you. And, as such, you're never going to think that a post is directed exclusively at you. The way Vin did. And, you'll never see Bull Run tell Vin that 'I could care less.'

Magnum had it right. It's a matter of respect gentelmen. Respect has to be earned. I haven't earned Vin's respect, nor should I have. But, once you start on the forum, once you're in the Community you have a responsibility to our world. You have to hold yourself to a higher standard. It's called integrity. Call me an ass all you want, call me angry, call me weak. But, don't shit on the Community. Because when you do, I'm going to stand up for what we're a part of and what we've built.

Now, reading this I feel like we're a bunch of crybaby girls. Drama, drama, drama.

"jjdog18, your opinions are greatly appreciated, bud."
Your were addressing just me for the issue here. This doesn't mean I got beef with you because of that. I don't really know you well, but I think you're a cool guy. (Judging by your posts so far)

I don't think anyone here is douche including BR. All we had was some conflicts and disagreements. If you are quick to judge someone over internet arguments, I would assume that person is pretty close minded.

Hahhaha remember when Kit came on here and posted all sorts of crazy shit right off the bat?

I don't know this Vin character but I presume he won't be around for long. At least Kit's post had some relevance.

Good Day

Bull Run,

I agree with you about the whiny, self-loathing posts. They are annoying. Here's what I do about those posts;

I don't read them.

If I wanted to hear some whiny, helpless, victim....well, that wouldn't happen. I don't let people like that into my life in the first place, why would I go ahead and read about it.
I also don't read posts with poor spelling and grammar. I scroll right through those because I know right from the get-go that they are going to be pointless.

BUT..

You've got to understand the guys that are drawn to pick-up do not naturally have any confidence or any real desire to better themselves. They're only looking for a quick fix and whine when it doesn't happen. Forget about them, they'll be gone soon enough. Only a few will come in and develop (more than likely they won't already be there) the balls to actually work at it.

I was forced into a conversation last night with a girl who was complaining about her job, I wanted to slap her in the face and tell her to quit. Instead I politely excused myself. I could have told her she is an idiot and needs to change, that she has the power to do anything with her life. That it's her fault she hates her job. But she wouldn't have listened. She may pretend to listen but when the time comes she won't take action. Some people just don't have it.

That's what most who come onto the boards are like.

You have to sift through some shit to find the peanuts.
