Recently I got a text that read, "I haven't been invited out by any of the community guys lately."
I ignored this for a couple of reasons... A) the phone works both ways and B) you dont get cordial invitations to bi-weekly meetups. I think this community is kinda still in a slump...too much turkey consumed collectively, and it has knocked the board on it's ass. I don't think it's the responsibility of the older guys to jump-start this board. I think, like BR and PC said, is something that needs to be initiated by some new guys. Show some necessity to learn. Contact people, ask real valid questions on the board...every person mentioned in the "1984 quarterback draft" class is extremely open to questions...the kicker here is that we hold lots of validity in REAL LIFE INTERACTION with one another.

reintroducing myself, im a cat who was in the scene, moved in w/ a girl over the summer in another state and learned that oneitis can truly be a disease, especially at this point in my 22 yrs.
to the above i agree. the philosophy of this lifestyle epitomizes self reliance and confidence. however i dont know that presence w/ the group is nessecarry irl to be a functioning member of this forum. i frequent many of the same bars as this community and am sure i have seen many of you cats in the scene though i remain anonymous. i go out with my own group of close friends and we sarge on our own. dont get me wrong i do plan on going out with the "crew" sometime and putting names to the faces, but i believe this forum should not isolate those who opt not to show up with the crowd. i also have a variety of locals that i dont really announce or boast, selfishly i suppose, but i do not prefer to go out with a large crowd as the bimonthly meetings do entail. to me, it just doesnt make much sense to scapegoat yet it also does not make sense for people who desire to learn, w/out experience, and complain that they can not have any luck on their own accord. without personal determination or the desire to change nothing shall be done, and i have learned that it is futile to attempt to change someone.

its great that you like to sarge by yourself and to keep anonymity. but you really are missing out on meetin some awesome people. the "crew" is composed of some really cool guys, i must admit.
i feel that the post was more towards guys who dont sarge at all. some noobs expect the old timers to set something up and call them to come out. what PC is trying to say is that these guys should own their development. if they want to get better, then they should go sarge with someone "seasoned" and ask them to criticize theirr game; what did they do right? what did they do wrong? sometimes its good to have someone evaluate your game and help you through your sticking points.

I totally understand why you don't want to frequent the bi-weekly meetups. It is a sausage fest, no doubt. But, a fest worth while.
I strive to meet each and every one of the guys on the boards. Not necessarily to sarge with them, or hang with them, but to at least know them IN PERSON. It makes a huge difference.
No one wants to cramp your style. If you don't want to be known, you won't by us. BUT, why should a community that's based on improving social, personal interaction NOT strive to want to interact with its members outside of a cold post on an Internet forum? It only seems natural that we should all meet each other in person.

The Community is bigger than you, than me, than any group of us...I would love to see it perpetuate itself into the future. I have no plans of leaving, but I don't want to talk to myself. Now that school has started, I can't go out as much. I want to keep going out, but it seems like some people can't because they are in a relationship or don't want to or too far.
Also, I have been day gaming at least 3-4 days a week at the mall instead of night with Matrix and El Fenix, and occasionally JJDog. I just like day game more because it seems easier and I can be more direct. I don't have to remember different lines or stories for day game since girls' bitch shield isn't up during the day. I want to take the girls I meet at the mall and use them as social proof at bars/clubs, but I have to number close first.
Last night, I went to Hotel Zaza's lounge with Matrix and El Fenix, and I had a blast. I felt like a baby there (which i was happy about) because I was the youngest and many cougars were there. I was dancing on the floor not caring what people thought with some older women.
