Let’s call him Mike. He was a natural I knew and looked up to before I got into the community, although a lot of what he did seemingly ran contrary to accepted community standards. To describe him to you, I’d have to quote a good friend of mine who once said, “Mike is exactly like a girl.†He was super effeminate. Had the pretense of sensitivity about him. Soft voice, small and skinny. He was self-deprecating and not much about him screamed leader of men. Nevertheless women swooned over how cute he was.
I knew Mike from a very early age and he developed at a much slower pace than most children so he always looked much smaller and younger than he was. So women of all ages were always looking at this little guy and saying, “oooh how cute!†And in those days he was, and learned early on how to use it to his advantage. The thing is, after high school, long after his sweet and innocent phase eventually passed, he never discarded that frame and never really changed his mentality much, which is why he continued to do well with women, even though he wasn’t the cute little kid anymore, and in fact not even at all really physically attractive in older age.
Mike moved out of town long before I got started trying to change my life so it’s difficult for me to compare his game with the accepted practices of PU, but I do have a few theories on why his game worked.
1. He was genuinely non-threatening. Automatic disqualifier. Women met him and thought he wasn’t interested in sex and this would immediately disarm them.
2. He always dressed outrageously but with a sense of style. Peacoking before I knew what it was. He’d be surrounded by tons of women while other badly dressed men called him a faggot.
3. He was insincere. I knew him well enough to know the depth of his assholeism. The quiet sensitive guy he actually was not, but he always tried to portray himself that way around women. The problem was he usually had this sinister grin, and maybe a glint in his eye that seemed to negate the sensitive guy shtick. I can’t remember any one time where a girl tried to call him out on it, thy all seemed to buy it in fact, but I find that the sinister grin/insincerity thing has been very valuable in my own game. Smiling that way and making statements like “I’m not a player,†or “I’m not going to kiss you at all tonight†has helped me immeasurably. Thing is, while it’s only a small part of my overall game, it was probably the cornerstone of his. He would go as far as to not use swear words like “pussy†or “dick†in front of anyone, male or female. Really, he had a difficult time referring to male or female genitals and it probably helped make him seem like that naïve little kid all the girls loved. The kicker was that he was not prudish at all personally (fucked lots of girls) and actually talked about sex quite a lot with women, but always with naïve childish terminology and frame.
4. His conversations were very female friendly. He talked about sex and past relationships, and other women. His biggest DHV was that he was always talking about other women, and it made it seem like he got tons of women (he did). Though because he was playing the sensitive guy role, he was never crude about it and never stepped over the line. He never came off as try hard or like a player. Instead he had incredible rapport with women and could connect with them on a level most guys couldn’t.
5. He had TONS of female friends and a lot of them in fact were “just friends.†We all know the AFC stereotype of the guy who can’t get laid and women always make him their friend. He’s a shoulder to cry on, he’s in essence another girl. That wasn’t Mike at all but he probably benefited a lot from that stereotype. If there was a girl’s night out, some all-girl activity, he was the only guy who was ever invited. He was a lot like the gay friend. Part of his success in this region I think had to do with the fact that he was often the guy who decided it was “just friends.†You cold tell certain women were really attracted to him even though they might have been in other relationships or thought he was too cool. He never really chased after these kind of girls, as his game was too passive, but he kept them around, and that made him seem more attractive to other women. He never had to worry about oneitis, because there were women all around for him to choose from, so he never seemed eager for any one girl, and always played it cool. It should also be noted that he never went to bars or other such public gatherings. He didn’t have to. He’d meet girls through all his different girlfriends. It was a system that really worked for him.
