Sleek your example regarding automobile producers and Dell isn't very good. The reason automobile producers aren't as efficient as Dell is because they have legacy costs and bullshit unions to deal with...
Unions destroy value, not create it. Don't believe me? The three worst industries in the U.S. are dominated by unions: autos, airlines, and education. Why is each piss poor? Because they have to deal with the bullshit socialistic leanings of unions. It's sad, really fucking sad.
Sleek, I OWN a couple of small businesses and these tax loopholes you speak of aren't as beneficial as you make them out to be. To be sure, there is a difference between on taxing on income and taxing on capital. One of my businesses pays very little income tax but throws off huge cash flow to me and my partners. But, you need to understand that EVENTUALLY the government will get theirs, they always do. I get cash today, but for everyone dollar I get I've also got a proportionate level of tax liability.
The Warren Buffett example isn't good either because it's probably not true OR he's splitting hairs. What does that mean? For the income he realizes, there is NO WAY that he doesn't pay a disproportionate level of tax than someone making less money than he. NO WAY. The tax code simply won't allow it. HOWEVER, for the wealth he creates and doesn't realize then his statement is probably correct. What you MAKE and what you TAKE HOME are way two different things.
Why do we punish the rich in this country? I'll never understand this. Is this the price they have to pay in order to realize the American Dream? Shit, according to Obama/Biden I'm ALMOST considered rich...ALMOST. But, after I pay taxes (more like have my money stolen), pay my house payment, pay my school loan debt, pay higher prices than necessary (because of the corporate tax which is passed on to me as a consumer). After all of this, I have suprisingly little leftover. I worked hard to get to the place I am, when can I enjoy the fruits of MY labor? When it's conveinent for others? When I help someone else achieve? When?
PC is right. A national sales tax is the way to go. It would be less, it would be fair. Sure, sure black markets would crop up but that's fine with me because I'll figure out a way to run one...thus making some nice cash on the side.
Taxing the 'rich' and redistributing it to the 'poor' only creates entitlements. It only reinforces to the 'poor' that they don't have to do a single thing to improve their lot in life, big brother will take care of you. This idea is un-American. The Dream is that we all have a chance, sure some have to work harder than others, some have bigger obstacles to overcome, but we all have a good chance to move up the ladder of wealth.
Finally, why would you ever want to burden the people that hire you with heavier taxes? Barrack Hussein Obama say he wants to build the economy from the bottom up. This isn't possible. Since when has a poor man ever hired anyone? Small businesses, the rich, risk-takers, these are the employers in this country. We shouldn't be punishing them, we should be thanking them for making the engine of our economy roar.
PC. I'm not a fan of Republicians or Democrats. Both want control. I'm a Conservative on virtually every issue, not all but close. I say we go back to abiding by the goddamn Constitution.
Oh where or where is the next Reagan?
