Tattoos?

Postby Røgue » Wed Apr 25, 2007 6:02 pm

What do you guys think about tattoos? I'm seeing this to lean towards peacocking. Most girls I know go nuts for guys with tats. I only have one that's on my shoulder so it's not visible but I've been wanting to get a couple on my forearms. Do you think this is more negative than positive?

I would say only get a tattoo if you want it, not for pick up. This is with you the rest of your life. Don't make a rush decision.

My personal opinion is that you should only put ink on your body if you truly have passion for what it is. People who put tribal bands, asian symbols, etc. on their bodies with no real meaning behind them devalue the tattoo.

I agree. The only reason I don't have more tats is that I always thought it was a turnoff. But I see girls going nuts for tats these days. I'm just wondering if it's best to play it safe and don't get tats or just do what I want. I'm curious if it assists in the peacocking effect.

fashion vs style. Tats are in fashion, that's why chicks dig them right now. That also means that they will go out of fashion. If you are doing it to get chicks, don't. You will regret it when they go out of fashion. If on the other hand, if you plan on making tats your life and style, go for it. Don't do anything permanent unless it's just for you.

i would not get one for the sake of peacocking. i am however planning on getting my entire shoulder done, but thats for me and she wont even see it until my shirt is off. but the forearm is an iffy place just because it could hinder you later in life. just my opinion...

I just got back from Fort Lauderdale and I was thinking bout gettin a tat. I never been the type to get one, so I didn't do it. Its just not my style to put something on my beautiful body... I did however get two piercings in my left eyebrow. I figure I can take those out anytime... I think it will definitely assist in peacock theory, however I only had them for like two days now...

Just as the guys have said, don't get a tattoo unless it's for YOU, not for women. However, I have clouds with sunshine tattooed on my upper chest ending just above my collar bone, and when I go out with the top few buttons undone on my dress shirt, women can't help but ask to see the whole thing. Great way for women to open you. If I wear a t-shirt or button up all but the very top one, you would never know that I had a tattoo. It's all about the strategy of where to put it if that's what you decide to do.
What would you do if you could never fail?

The only tats I will consider are my fraternity's letters on my ankle (like all of us have) and a tat that has to do with remembering who and what I am, but is something very personal that isn't really open for discussion.
