Sleek, I'm gonna back you up here buddy. I think field reports are a helpful thing to everyone (from experienced and newbies alike) and I will post one myself here in a sec. I don't agree that they are "creepy" if they are posted not to brag but for instructional purposes and you don't put any girl's name in there. But I guess that's the same as what, Top Dog and PC, you're saying. I mean the point really is to help people.

Of course, looking at my own field reports, they are normally drunken ramblings and are probably a great example of what NOT to do in your life. For instance, DON'T for the life of you fall asleep in a field. haha I have fun though.

ps I am curious to hear Vector's comment on this thread... hello? lol.

The timing of this thread is somewhat coincidental. Just a few days ago (last Friday) I sent an email to the guy who runs the lair list, which lists all active lairs around the world. The website of our former home is listed, but this one is not, which I am seeking to remedy. A fair number of new users are being directed to the old site, and when I look over there, it appears they are generally disappointed. Meanwhile here we have relatively little "fresh blood" except for those new users who somehow manage to find their way over here. The constant flow of new users definitely generates traffic in the forums, even if the questions are the same ones over and over again.

But my own belief is that the online discussions are not what's important. There are hundreds, if not thousands of places on the internet to discuss pickup.

The true value of a lair is the ability to meet in person and everything that entails. People get live, in-field tips or observations, and can find wings and sometimes build lasting friendships. I believe the live, in-person element is tremendously more important than people discussing theories. And having met people in person adds depth to the online conversations, in that when someone makes a claim, it's not just "another internet nobody trying to sound knowledgeable." I actually know the person, and can interpret it accordingly.

I hadn't really noticed a decrease in forum volume, but I wouldn't dispute it. (My request to the lair list was the result of some other factors.) But even so, I'm not too worried about forum volume because the events are very successful. On August 15th we had 18 people show up. Taco Cabana got a little overcrowded -- not everyone could sit down.

As for FRs, everyone is going to have their own feeling as to what they feel comfortable posting. It is what it is. In my case, I don't post FRs unless I discover something interesting or if I'm looking for feedback as to what I might do differently.

Sorry, i was in kind of an antagonistic mood last night, i should make an important distinction that it was more geared towards LR rather than FRs rereading my post...

hope i didn't offend anyone, it wasn't meant to. i think it's important for people to outline the actual pick up that occurred, principles that were applied...not just blah blah, yea i got laid. that doesn't always come through on LRs. i'm sure i'm guilty in past as well.

I actually enjoy reading FRs from people looking for feedback and think they are valuable

I think a lot of FRs and LRs are simply nothing more than pure bragging. I nailed this chick and I closed that chick. Well I hate to burst your bubble, but anyone with any level of skill does as well. When I see posts that have a point (i.e. I learned this and think you can learn from the story OR holy shit this was a crazy, fucked up series of events OR what the hell happened?) then I read them and generally comment. When I read shit that has no point (i.e. I fucked an HB10 and got drunk or whatever) then I take it with a grain of salt and move on. Good for you (assuming it even happened the way you say)...

yes you can reply to threads from a cell phone. i am now...its just alot slower.

greetings from ohio peoeple!!

anyway to business, i think ive only ever posted like 10 fr/lrs. while i was in dallas i had 3 long term fuck buddies with 1 in rotation, not much i can post a fr/lr on there. wheb i went to okc i racked up 2 lays with 2 more on the string, should i ever make it back up there. so other than reporting on what happens when i wing people, i dont really have much to write about other than my text game, or framing philosophies, or any other revalations i come across. bascially ive been content for the past year.

most of you know however that i started an awesome new job, and hopefully ill be working on my snl game that ive never worked on...

i will be reporting on it.

i dont agree that fr/lr s are creepy, unless it includes you sitting in a corner touching yourself while the woman of your dreams walks by, it is creepy if you repeat verbatim what you posted in person, the community has problems with creepiness written all over it anyway, maybe a class on that....

reports can be helpful, and certainly can be full of bragging and occassionally chocked full of exaggerations and tall tales that us laddies just love to use so much. were men... did we honestly expect this NOT to happen? its part of being alpha really, a piss poor way of doing it but essentially this is what game is about. instead of 86ing the bragging guys lets learn to cover it up just a little better.

like i said i havent really had anything to report on, and im always available for help, pm me and ill see what we can work out.

as far as the influx of new people goes, thats how the cookie crumbles this time of year, and maybe just maybe there is a decline in new puas because of no new material, even if there is a decline, all we would need to do is go out and recruit.

the real thing, that keeps a community alive is, like vector said, activities and live stuff bull run and PC organized the river, ive done paintball and some classes, vector hosts the meets religiously, smirks has parties al the time, PP did the contest, if you want to community to grow AND flourish hold events. anybody can do it, put it on the calendar and make a post.

im sure i missed a topic, but hell it took me 45 min just to type this out

I'm guilty of just reading more than posting lately.

On the subject of FRs:

I'll read other peoples' FRs if I know them enough to know its not gunna be a bragfest, or if its short.
I don't really spend time reading FRs from people I don't know....unless its got a pretty good hook.

I really don't post my own FRs on here...but maybe should.
I do write them (on my blog), but that's mostly for myself where I'll generally go back and read them a few times over (when bored at work/whatever).
In doing this, I find alot of my own sticking points and address them on my own.
This has also helped me develop alot of the little tactics that I use on occasion.

I usually feel like I have enough intuition to pickup alot of my own problems and work them out.
So unless I really can't figure something out, I rarely feel the need to actively ask for advice.
(not that I'm at all opposed to advice or insight)

I guess I like to figure things out for myself...though I know that might not be the most efficient way to get better.

On the other hand, if I'm ever sarging with you, and you notice something I could be doing better, by all means call me out on it.

Bull Run did this last week at one point, and I realized that I walk around alot with one or both thumbs in my pocket.
Small little detail, but I'd probably have never noticed it on my own.

I always find the field reports very interesting and after reading one there is usually always something I can learn no matter the experience level of the poster.

As far as why I post, I see a lot of mine as entertainment value..lol. And if I can try and point out any of the pua skills I might have applied I do so. Half the time I don't remember wtf I did. I just do it.

Please everybody, keep posting away. They are one of my favorite things to read on here.
