Good point...I don't have any kind of strict rule on this myself, but I generally don't just ask for names either.

I had already been talking to her for a while, and previous to that excerpt she had asked my name (first...and fairly early on), where I turned the question around on her and she gave me Bertha.
I went on with her on that for several minutes because I didn't believe her...but she never came back to asking my name.

So it was after we had been talking for a while that I came back and said "So are you going to tell me your name?".
Honestly I think most girls would've volunteered it at that point....I'm pretty sure she was just getting off on being difficult that night.

On the other hand, I do see the benefit to letting them be the one who initiates and tells you.
Plus, you're right, I can't think of any time where I've actually gained anything from her giving her name when I ask.
(Though I haven't been very successful with highly direct thus far...so I've been doing mostly indirect)

I think I'll try completely leaving the names talk to the girl and see how that goes.

Just to clarify the difference between Direct and Indirect.

Direct is going in and making it known that she/they are the reason you are doing the approach. It doesn't necessarily have to be "Hi, wanna fuck?" or anything sexual.

Indirect is going in and having a third, outside reason and it could be them you are talking to or anybody else in the bar.

Example: Direct - "You guys look like a fun group, I had to come meet you." "OMG you guys look like the munchkins from the wizzard of oz!" (don't say that) etc. THEY are the reason you're interested in going up and talking to them.

Example: Indirect - "Do you guys know where XYZ bar is?" "Who lies more, men or women?" In these examples you could be asking anybody, the girls just happened to be there.

i always introduce myself, but i always go direct.

It usually goes something like this...

PC: What are all these people doing here?
HB: Almost always a snide comment like ohh you invited them..we invited them..I don't know.

I escalate super fucking fast if it is going good. EX: #close within first 2 minutes(Usually with a line like...We should definitely hang out sometime...what is your number?) on average then just go into comfort shit. I'm not a qualifying pro like you so I haven't mixed that into my game yet but need to. I love your line "I'm not shallow tell me your best quality" and I will start using that with this direct game although I do think it breaks attraction just a bit.

Just with those few lines it is very easy to see where you are in the set. Some girls just get right into this and love it. I pulled an SNL from those exact lines two weeks ago and have number closed a few hotties as well. I have also gotten shot down just as many times with it...but they were all this past saturday when I was retartedly drunk.

If you have your shit together and aren't half bad looking girls love direct if done properly. I mean sure they hear all the beautiful shit all the time but this is still different. Also make sure your BL is AWESOME. I see so many guys leaning in and shit. Fucking relax and chill while you are doing this. Ohh I also am Super Reserved with Kino and I think they appreciate it. That pretty much sums it up. I am very selective on who I will talk to these days. I used to not really pick my targets but now that is almost exactly what I do. I wouldn't say my results are any better doing direct game vs indirect. I can only say the girls are hotter.

Direct is not a method. Its a Philosophy.

Its about showing that you are interested in her. And not hiding. There are no takeaways, no DHV's. Direct is also about being a man and not excusing yourself.

Where am I telling people to do takeaways, DHV's, or hide? Im pretty sure I've just given examples of what would be a direct opener versus what would be an indirect opener. And they are right. A direct opener is opening with your motivation being clearly something specific to HER, indirect would be non-specific to her.

The point is that a direct opener can show sexual intent, or it can show just plain curiosity or anything else. Whatever is congruent to whatever you actually feel at the moment that is motivating you to talk to them.

That's correct, I'm not sure what your disagreement is.

Maybe you're assuming that these are canned openers - in which case I'll forgive you. I never use canned openers, unless you count "hey what's up I'm Peter." these all popped in to my head when i was typing it out as an illustration. It could be a billion things.
