Same here, was going to attend but bailed on account of the weather coming
through the area. (Please exscuse any typing errors, I'm rather lit right now..)
So I'm watching the storm, and chatting with some buddies online. Big
lightning strike nearby, and I hear a crackle of static right after the lightning/thunder
hit. I then yank power plugs and cable connections, and head downstairs
to check out the storm from the ground floor level (bbetter view from there,
open all the way around with lots of windows.)
Check out storm for a minute or two (the rain has just started seriously
coming down a minute or two befoer this) and notice a car idling out in front
of my building.
I wander over a bit to check it out, and they rfoll down the window. It's a
couplke of chicks, and they ask if I;;ve heard anything about how the
storm is going. Since I had just been checking out the latest ont eh web
online right before I pulle dthe polug, I give 'em the run down.
Ithen invite th3m up to wait out the storm, as it's just NASTY outside at that point.
They happiliy agree.
After a minute or tow after they park thge car (I'm watching from the
lobby area front door) they run into the building and I bring them up to
my place. They're both a bit Rubenesque, but more than welcome to visit.
I clear out some boxes from teh couch (just moved in recnetly, so boxes
and assorted crap all ove the place. As I'm doing that, they've locked onto the
"bar" at the far end of teh kitchen counter tnd the array of top shelf booze I have
(Patron Tequila, Jack Daniels whiskey, Bombay Gin, Grey Goose Vodka, etc.)
and start oohing and ahhing. Chat, chat, one of the ladies asks if they could "top
off" their sodas, and I say ok. Soon after we're doing shots...
All told, got a # close, and a date to meet up with both of them on Sunday for
The Church. All in all, a good substitute for meeing up with all of you guys foir
the evening if I do say so myself.
