The PUA Lifecycle

You don’t just enter the Community and automatically become a PUA. Much like with anything else in life, becoming a PUA is a process. Having said that, I think there is a lifecycle, a progression on the road to becoming a PUA. Here’s what I believe to be the steps:

1. Newbie – You’re excitement level and enthusiasm is huge in this stage. You feel like you just found the ‘answer’ and you can’t wait to put your newly found skills to the test. A newbie is typically an approach machine and they tend to believe that “this shit is easy” (something I thought in the beginning and have heard time and time again since). Newbie’s are totally oblivious to what they are doing, they just do it because someone said so. So, they tend to be surprisingly effective (at least I was). The read non-stop and are sponges for new information. Usually, they run canned material that isn’t there own…and regularly get called out by women for using them.
2. Scientist – The scientist starts to chillax a little bit. They don’t approach everyone all the time and tend to become a little more selective than a newbie. They still read but not as much as they did before. The material they use is stories, routines, and openers that is original and they attempt to become congruent to these stories. I call this stage the scientist stage because of the presence of unique material. You create it in the lab, then test it in the field. Whatever works you keep, what doesn’t you discard. This stage is the beginning of internalization.
3. Spotter – This is a stage of growth and pain. Your success level starts to slide just a little bit because you’re still trying to understand why the material that you tested in the scientist phase isn’t working as well as it did before. But, you keep persevering because the Community has begun to act as a backstop, a spotter that prevents you from really getting hurt. So, you plow ahead with the knowledge that even if you can’t get the weight up at least it won’t crush you. It’s right about here that you stop reading.
4. Misogynist – This is the stage when you start to lose a little bit of hope in the female population. You look around the world and you feel sorry for AFCs because they aren’t ‘enlightened,’ you see women and you feel sorry for them because they are oblivious to the fact that you can get them to have sex with you if you wish, and you feel a little bit of regret because you now see the world for what it really is…and you begin to wonder if ignorance truly is bliss. These beliefs begin to spill over into your Game and it poisons it a little bit. And, women start to see that bitterness lurking underneath which hampers your effectiveness.
5. Monk – The mantra for the monk is “just because you can doesn’t mean you should.” You begin to become very picky, only approaching those sets that appear to be high value. Your closes become fewer and fewer, but the quality is much higher. I think this is the stage when guys bow out because they found a great chick with which to have an LTR.
6. Mid-life Crisis – This is the stage when you begin to question everything. You begin asking yourself if you went down the ‘wrong’ path. If you made a bad decision ever entering the Community. You long for yesteryear, the days in which you viewed women as majestic creatures that were to be cared for and cherished. You might find yourself going after low value girls just for the hell of it. You begin to question whether or not you belong in the Community.
7. Born Again PUA – This is the stage in which you get your second breathe. You’ve come to see the Community not as a medium to get girls, but as a vehicle for self-improvement. This is the stage in which you just show the world who you are and are not concerned with Game so much as just having a good time. I call this born again because this is when your success rate makes a huge spike up.
8. Pick Up Artist – By saying that this step exists it implies that I think I’m a PUA. I don’t, but I hope that the next stage is PUAism. What does it mean to be a PUA? Not sure. But I suspect it has to do with the notion that you never run Game any longer because it’s been 100% internalized. You are who you are at all times and you’ve become naturally attractive to others.

Day Game helps keep you sane. You meet a different sample of girl during the day than say at Black Finn on a random Monday night lol.
