how well known is this stuff

Postby isosceles cheese » Mon Mar 31, 2008 3:43 pm

How many guys out there around town know what they are doing with women and Pick-Up? Anyone have a ballpark percentage? We were in Uptown and an ultra-hotspot, and had too much success for our naiveté.

I went on my first real "sarging" mission last weekend with a friend. We didn't go real deep into it because we're newbs, but we opened up a bunch and got all the anxiety shit out of the way for the first night...its crazy how you turn into a machine and get the endorphine high.

At one point we talked to each other and realized that we were doing some pretty hardcore shit after we invaded a table of 3 8.5-9.5's and 3 dudes showed up with shots for the table, who promptly did their shots and were never seen again...lol.

I thought about it afterward and I assumed pretty much any guy in the nation knows about PU and has at least looked at it and knows what to do better than we do for our first time out.

This is stuff is pretty well known, but over the last year I've been called out twice. Once by a guy and once by a girl that had a friend that's a big Style fan. My theory is that people don't really recognize being 'gamed' while its happening to them. It's only in hindsight that they pick up on it. I've told a handful of my closes about the Community and every one of them was like "shit I thought something seemed familiar, I can't believe that stuff actually works!" To which I respond, "that stuff is no longer stuff...it's me."

Initially you'll be shocked at your level of success. I often wonder if the material is that successful or if its because you believe in the material and that belief emboldens you in essence allowing you to project confidence when you otherwise wouldn't have. Like with everything else in life I suspect its a little bit of both.
The difference is indifference.

yeah, but I wonder if we really have an advantage with this knowledge, or if its now the standard toolset for single men.

I HIGHLY doubt that... reason is because a lot of advice is freely available, for example there is a lot of get in shape workout advice online, but you walk into a bar out of 25 guys 1 is in decent shape, the rest are super skinny or have beer bellies, it takes balls and determination to practice this stuff and get good... and most guys dont have either one of those

I agree... plus this.
Before the balls and determination comes the willingness to examine one of the methods within the game and actually believing its not bullshit. Most guys are just going to think its bullshit like the spam they get in their email about mortgage loans, transvestitism and male enhancement pills. Most guys are going to regulate the the game to that portion of their minds. Filed 13 for Bullshit.

I would be willing to bet that even among those people who watch The Pick Up Artist, probably 80% think that its bullshit and will never work. Or that it wont work for them.

i don't think it's really well known... i know within my social circle none of the single guys know. They just wonder and regularly comment how i've transformed myself over the past few years. :)

I've never been called out either...but.... I avoid like the plague any canned material that might get me called out and really just utilize the personal development tools. BUT with that said, early on after discovering community(WAY before The Game, or VH1) i would run cube, strawberry fields, etc.. But i don't touch those anymore as i'm not sure how well known they are.

There's always going to be AFCs. Theres always going to be guys who know a little something and then there are always going to be guys who know how to game (naturally) or through routines (MM, David DeAngelo, ect.). A good amount of people know the game, but for the most part, only know the game from the book "The Game" and nothing else. (Peak-cocking, indirect openers, FTCs and thats about it) "The Game" doesn't go into that much detail about actual gaming. Anyways, with that being said if you know more than just the beginning stuff in "The Game" you'll be a step ahead of most guys who "know how to game".

I have sort of been called out once by a woman who is a friend of mine.
We were talking about a mutual friend of ours. This is a girl who actually does sometimes wiggle her nose when she talks... I mention how I thought it was cute and then my friend starts telling me about this VH1 show she's started watching and how thats one of the guys negs.

Whats fucked up about this is that even if I had never heard of the game I still would have made that comment.

If you're being called out as far as game goes, then you need to work on being more original. No canned openers, no canned routines, no spinning a bitch to steal her seat, so wearing fuzzy top hats and makeup, no card tricks in a club, etc etc.

Be you in an interesting way. If you're having a hard time thinking of that kind of stuff, then you just found a sticking point@!

I'm not talking about using canned material. I mean seriously, who the fuck uses canned shit ever? I'm talking about real competition, not faegs asking women if they saw the fight outside.

I wonder what percentage of men in bars really know what they are doing...and I'm not one of them.
