afc question for you, i've never had a chick pull the text / phone call thing on me. i have lost 'em because i got important phone calls during the date, and i was dumb enough to believe they'd understand.... but how do you handle a chick who just continually busts out a phone and starts texting? it seems like if you bust her chops for it, even playfully, you come across as needy, and if you do nothing, you're a door mat. so ... what's the plan?

You pick up your phone and call her. She'll laugh, I promise, and you look confident. I'd do this only one the second phone call or in the middle of text conversation.

Ignore her texting and plow on with conversation. You can't wait for her to finish texting or she can go for minutes without conversation. It's uncomfortable for both of you.

Just plow on with conversation but never mention the texting.

If she gets a call and takes it, initiate conversation with someone else, men or women, preferably women. When she's done with her call, continue conversation with the stranger and ignore her as long as your new conversation lasts. Bring her into the new conversation only after she's sat there for a few minutes with your back to her.
