Where I can go, who I can meet to learn good stuff

Postby midman » Sat Feb 23, 2008 2:00 pm

If I want to pay $3Gs, then I'll do a bootcamp, but I don't have that much money to fork over right now. I've been with the mm forums for a while and had friends who are novices when it comes to gaming (myself included) and was hoping that some of ya'll could fill me in on possible conferences and venues or just one-on-ones where a PUA could help me out. I'm here to learn. Anybody got some time to help me out, let me know. Thanks

Highly recommend Captain Jack's eClass. Its reasonable too. He's made some changes and its probably kick ass.
I did it back in 2005. Excellent.

El topo is good too. I would recommend doing a one-on-one with him.

Where do you live?
Why should I listen to you when you don't even get laid?

Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Where do I find out about Captain Jack's e-class? And how do I get in touch with El topo and taking a one-on-one with him? I live in Dallas over by the smu campus.

Does this board advocate paid e-courses, one on ones and the like now?

I think we need a disclaimer here.

The board does not advocate products or bootcamps or professional services. But people are allowed to acknowledge the existence of the commercial side and discuss it as appropriate. We're not pro-commercial, but we're not anti-commercial either.

That said, we are strongly against using the forums to advertise. This includes advertising via stooges and false "discussions." So far this has not been a problem and I'll be watching to keep it that way.

Some people get a lot from bootcamps and products, but it's definitely not the only way to go. There are lots of people here who can help too. Come to one of our events and make friends with people who are more experienced.

I'd say if you haven't read all the the archives at mASF, save your money.

There's a ton of valuable information from the 'old days' (ie. pre 'The Game', pre VH1 show, etc) not just reading current forums.

Not to say some of the newer names aren't providing value, but having discovered the community years ago before all the recent publicity, there's a ton of valuable info in those older archives that has more or less provided the foundation for a lot of commercial courses..and alot of noob KJing on forums.

If you have read it all and tried to digest it and it's not clicking, then by all means, some paid courses may be the right next step, so I'm certainly not trying to blast them.

Dude just go out have a good time. Most of all keep and open mind and stopping caring as much..

Spend your money on something else.

Best advice is just stay on the board and try to get out as much as possible with us. OH and definitely, do not try to learn all the material at once.. Its impossible.

Finesse, Smirks, Bullrun, and PicturePerfect (me) we all go out often and we are pretty welcoming to all people... For the most part :)
