That video is annoying, misleading, and factually incorrect in many instances. It is nothing more than a poorly-constructed mosaic of nutty conspiracy ideas.

It is unfortunate but it is a law. It became law the moment New Mexico ratified the Amendment.

But that doesn't mean it has to stay a law.

The 18th Amendment prohibited the manufacture, sale and transportation of alcoholic beverages. The 21 amendment repealed prohibition. If a new amendment were ratified which repeals the 16th amendment then you would have no income tax.

Take a look at these guys.

Right, the amendment to the constitution is one of the things in question. It is purposed that the amendment itself did not pass with a house majority since most of the states reps werent there for the session because of a holiday break. Some argue the validity of the ratification of it based on that.

There are other reasons, but I am still readin on it.

Judging by TITLE 26, Subtitle A, CHAPTER 1, Subchapter B, PART I, Sec. 61. It seems to be readily outlined. But since you have to look at law under which context it was written to be able to determine who it applies too, you have to determine what the context that, that particular thing was written for.

Anyway, thats where im at now. Ill keep you posted on what I find out.

You're believing this because you want to beleive it is true, not based ont he evidence. The arguements have been tried before the courts and the courts have rejected them...the supreme court has refused the hear the appeals on many arguements...

I too think the income tax is insane. It takes away a lot of the incentive to produce....our government is taking away people's economic liberty--their right to keep the fruits of their labor.

In San Antonio my friend lives in some apartments that are right across the street from some much nicer aparmtents. I asked him why he doenst live there, and he told me he cant they're low income housing....

if the governement continues to take from the producers and give to the worthless looters via income tax and subsidized health care & housing, why keep working?

Why go to school and become a doctor, engineer, or businessman?

The collapse of the US economy is the end result of these horrific policies.....

But the 'you dont have to pay income tax' schemes are bs, even though i wish they werent

The 16th amendment is not what caused the taxation of income to become constitutional. It only addressed the question of whether it was a direct or indirect tax and whether it had to be apportioned by population.

Dude, your income tax doesnt even go to pay for government funded programs.... its going to the reserve to pay off the debt... the reserve which btw is privately owned bank.

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration. (The courts have ruled this allows a direct tax on wages/saleries/etc.)

Well, actually it's part public, part private. But in any case, as a member of the Austrian School, I think the Federal reserve is destroying the US economy and will be the leading cause of our government's collapse...that's what happens when you print money out of thin air. It also fucks over the poor & middle class. If you want to piss yourself off, read about how the fed works or watch the movie "money masters"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austrian_School
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inflation

Inflation basically distorts our economy in a bizzare way that greatly benifits the groups in charge of controlling inflation.
