DPUA IRC?

Before you ask, I searched! http://dallaspua.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18&highlight=irc

I work in a lage Dallas-based Data Center. Traffic from all employees is monitored (that's actually part of my job) so I tend to shy away from surfing things of personal interest at work (even though I have soooooooooooooo much spare time to.)

That post suggesting a #dpua channel is like a year old, but I'd be interested in getting it going. IRC traffic is the easiest type of traffic for me to encrypt...so no one at work would be the wiser. Plus, it'd help getting people comfortable with the community, I'd hope. Any thoughts on trying again?

Ok guys, I've created an official IRC chat channel for us.
You need a password, or "key" to enter. It's listed below.

To connect, use
server: irc.freenode.net
port: 6667 (the usual port for irc)
channel: #DallasPUA
key: artist

I am "Vec-". I'll leave it connected most of the time but I may or may not be at my computer, so don't be offended if I don't answer.

Right now I'm not in the mood to explain what IRC is or describe to a novice how to connect. But for you guys who are familiar with it, you should have all you need..

I'll be in there most of the time too, and I can post a howto IRC later for those who don't know how.
