He said a dumb thing. I wont disagree with that at all. My issue is that sonone who has been on the radio for YEARS, makes a comment and gets fired. I really think the current political climate really is rediculous in this country. We all say dumb things in public. Can you imagine losing your job because you made a dumb comment about someone? I really cant unless I cussed them out. Then I would deserve it. But 1 offhanded remark?
This also works for the gay comunity. I remember an actor getting into an argument recently and callingn another guy a "fag" and the media giving it coverage. There was a group that wanted his job because of something he said. If it was an on air comment , that is one thing but a comment during an argument ? This is total BS. What it really amounts to is cultural terrorism on the part of a few certain groups I'm thinking of. You disagree with us, or make a comment against us, and we will ruin your life.
I love how t his issues of "tolerance" only works for those who are tolerant of all. Disagree, or make a comment, and suddenly your Satan himself.

I think in too many situations like this apology is weakness. It admits culpability. I never apologize for anything I do or say. If you don't like it, fuck ya. Most of it is the pot calling the kettle black anyway. I don't think he got fired because he said it but because he spent too much time apologizing. I think what we in the community can learn from this is anything you say can blow you out, so don't worry about it. The way an old friend of mine used to say it, "someone heard someone else say that you said something about cabbage so they filed sexual harassment charges."

I say never apologize about who you are, someone may get offended but others will respect you because you live a life without limits.
