Who wants to start their own business

Studies have shown that a person’s psychology changes when in a managerial position, especially one where you have people depending on you for their living. The brain adapts to take you from indecisive to decisive, beta to alpha, etc. Owning a business not only gives you that and other massive inner game benefits, it is also very rewarding. It makes you happier. Happier because you are no longer confined to a 9 to 5 job. You have the freedom to do what you want. Take a day off to do a few errands or go fishing. Take a few weeks off to travel. Take a few months off to start another business. Having a nice income with minimal work is nice. It’s very nice :0)

This community is more about building your pickup skills. It’s about building your life. So, in this thread, let’s figure out on how you can start a business. I know some of you have already had ideas. And it is MUCH easier than you think. Maybe with my experience in this I can help some of you succeed.

First, the best way to have a good idea is to have MANY ideas. Focus on the question: “What business can I start” Write down everything that comes to mind. After you have written all the ideas down focus on the question again: “What business can I start”; Focus on it hard then forget about it. During the next 24 hours ideas will pop in your head. It may be when your reading, or driving, or banging an HB. Write them down immediately. You’re HB will just have to wait.

Second, now you have the list of ideas what do you think may work the best. You should get a good feeling about a few of them.

For example, here is a list of some ideas that I have:

Online books
I have a few ideas for this

Hostel
This would be fun

Sell Appliances
Only because I already have an excellent website that will bring in business immediately

Lawn Care
Again, I have a website that would bring in business immediately

Window Cleaning
I would be able to leverage my current business with a strong online presence to bring in business

House Cleaning For Elderly.
Increasing number of elderly want autonomy thus the need for cleaning services with medical training

Cable Guy House Sitter
While waiting for cable guy, phone guy, utilities, plumber, etc.

Non-Corn Grocery Store
Sells products with no corn or corn extracts; 70% of the food we eat has corn! That’s why Americans are so fat.

Sell Costume Bigfoot
Believe it or not, there is an easily accessible market our there

Flyer Distribution Company

Topless Coffee Shop
Heard about this idea online working well for some coffee shop in a small town

These ideas WILL work and MAKE mucho money. Some are very easy to do and require minimal investment. I do not mind sharing them because there is soooo much opportunity out there.

Write down a list of ideas and let me know if any of you would be interested in doing this.

I ran my own business for ten years (a tattoo shop). It had it's advantages and disadvantages. If I wanted I could only work half a day. The only trouble was figuring out witch 12 hours to take off. That's not a joke. The first year I would put in as many as 90 hours a week. But, after I was established it got easier.

I've been looking for some other business to start sense I had to close the tattoo shops. I haven't found anything yet that really grabs me.

It's good you've had experience in running your own place. Whatever you pick, it should be set up in a way - eventually - where it can run by itself, where you remove yourself from the system so you are free to do other things.

The Topless Coffee Shop is certainly leading onto something. The concept of having a Hooter's style coffee shop is a no-brainer if one knows the story of Cowgirls Espresso (I didn't spell Espresso wrong based on their company name). Just look it up on youtube.com. This company started out as a 70ft drive thru coffee stand only a few years ago. The stand was bringing in no business, until HB10 barista decided to wear a bikini to work to tolerate the intense summer heat. That day sales quadrupled, so it became clear to the female owner that this made sense for the company to practice everyday. Now they are expanding outside Washington state, and are franchising. Probably owning a franchise won't be neccessary or even the best idea.

Go to their website www.cowgirlsespresso.com. A Hooters style coffee shop or coffee drive thru is a no brainer if one reads the news section of their website and watches the videos. As of now it is an untapped and severely undervalued market. We should head in that direction before it is too late! Plus, owning a business dependent on hot hired guns is obviously a great way to get laid! Look at Hugh Hefner. I think the topless coffee shop sounds nice, however it is probably a lot more risky than just having it be a Hooters style coffee shop or drive thru. Having a topless coffee shop probably would be much less profitable. A topless business profitability is probably more dependent on selling alcohol as opposed to focused on selling coffee or food. Think about it, how many times have you bought drinks at a topless bar as opposed to ordering food from their menu or coffee from their menu?

Lol, that's it I'm dropping out of college to open up a topless starbucks. Haha!
When I was in high school we used play poker in under ground card rooms, some of those places were pretty shady looking, like a scene out of a rob zombie movie. I always had this vision of opening up a really nice cardroom/stripclub. But I don't know how the laws are here in Texas I had read something back in the day saying cardrooms were legal as long as they were private clubs. Anyone know? Would have probably been a lot more profitable while the poker boom was in it's peak anyway, assuming it could be run legally. I was originally a music major but then I decided I didn't want to live off of $12,000 a year for the rest of my life so I settled on majoring in physics instead. Yeah I know completely different sides of the spectrum but who knows maybe cardroom operator/stripclub owner is still in the cards lol.
Never had sex with a 10...NEVER! but one night I nailed five 2's and I think that should count for something.

Unfortunately, if it is a cardroom with gambling it definitely is not legal in Texas. Not even can a casino operate on an indian reservation in Texas. Speaking of legal, a stripclub or anything topless might be hard to get a license. Maybe having a staffing firm for bars, nightclubs, stripclubs, etc. looking for stunning HB10s for hire would be easier. I know some people who had no money in Austin that did that and man did they get rich fast!

I think I've come up with something that will work. I know if I'd had someone offer this service to me when I had the tattoo shops I'd have used it.

Keeping track of and changing AC filters. All it would take is a business card, a small truck, a ladder and a phone. AC filters should be changes about once a month. If they aren't the AC uses more power and it causes damage to the unit which would be costly to repair or replace. My business would keep track of when a filter needed changing, install the new filter, dispose of the old filter and maybe even clean out the ducts if needed.

Does anyone know how I'd go about testing this idea to find out who may be interested and how much they'd be willing to pay for the service? My first thought is hair stylists.

Scoundrel, why hair salons? Why not hit up all the local businesses by you? Find a strip mall or something and give it a shot. I would say try to put them on a 6 month contract if you can, but that might chase some of them off.

As far as me, I'm working on a new website idea. As soon as I get it fully up and going, I'll post more info about it here. Should be another week or two hopefully.
