2007 IP Poker Classic

Postby phoenix_rising » Tue Oct 30, 2007 6:21 pm

I'm leaving out on November 1st for two weeks. Where is he going you might ask? I'll be in Biloxi, Mississippi for the 2007 IP Poker Classic held at the Imperial Palace. I'm going to run a heavy tournament schedule this year, and it would be nice to have support from the community. Esspecially when it gets time for 2008 WSOP in june. So, if any of you have any info on Biloxi, MS, it would be greatly appreciated, because all work and no play can make phoenix a very dull boy.

Beau Rivage - Checkout the nightclub. Last time I was there the night club was good on the weekends. Lots of HB's. More HB's here than at any other Biloxi Casino. However, I know that a new Hard Rock casino has opened. I don't know what it's like. Beau Rivage is a typical Steve Wynn property. It will remind you of the Bellagio. It is the most "Vegasesque" and fanciest casino on the coast. It draws lots of high rollers (What Steve Wynn property doesn't?). Also, if you know how to play blackjack with an advantage the double deck game can be very good to excellent at the Beau. Just know that the pit and eye are very sharp.

There are opportunities in Biloxi (not just at the Beau) for a skilled blackjack player too if you know how to do that and what to look for. Both, shuffle tracking and straight counting.

There's aren't just a lot of clubs in Biloxi. There's a few outside the casinos, but the majority are inside the casinos.

If you want to go to an excellent restaurant, check out Mary Mahoney's on Beach Boulevard (hwy 90, the main drag). It's across the street from the Beau. If you're an Anne Rice fan, you'll recognize the name.

If you're into fishing you could always charter a boat and a guide for a deep sea fishing trip - either in Biloxi or Gulfport.

Also, New Orleans is 1.5 hrs away. It's a straight shot West on I-10. Easy to find drunken tourists playing at Harrah's near the Quarter on the weekends. The blackjack here sucks and is pretty much worthless.

Lots of fun to be had in New Orleans!

Good luck and have fun. Let us know how you did!
