Poker....Can you play?

I've been grinding the online scene for 4 years now, and have made a nice chunk of change. the poker community is not that different from the pick-up community. We all try to help each other reach our goals. However the one thing that I've been looking for, I can't find. Another PUA who is also very good at poker. I go to vegas 3 to 4 times a year, and it would be so much better if I had a wing who could play poker. So I turn to my options, I could help teach a poker player to be a PUA, or teach a PUA to be a poker player.
If interested, reply

Interesting. Tynan ("Herbal" from the Strauss book) used to be a professional gambler. I think he's set for life and retired now, and he just does whatever the hell he wants.

<-- Interested. Just got back from Vegas. I'm an online pro working on the transition to live as I just turned 21.

I know of one guy here that plays. He's a card counter and they won't let him play black jack anymore, so now he plays poker. He's a good guy too! But, I feel it would be out of bounds for me to say who it is. He'll come forward if he's interested.

Right now he is just hanging out in Guam soaking up the sun. :)

Making a decent income playing poker isn't that difficult as long as you can maintain a cool demeaner and know where to play.

I just saw this thread. I'm the guy scoundrel is talking about.

I can't play blackjack anywhere in Shreveport anymore and will be arrested for trespassing if I get caught at Horseshoe or El Dorado! I played strictly blackjack for about 5 years in Shreveport before getting tossed at every casino there. One casino knew I was counting cards, but was tolerant of my small/medium stakes. Then the casino changed management and that was the end of that!

Now, I play poker. Mostly at Winstar. My blackjack skills are much better than my poker skills. I prefer to play blackjack. Oklahoma blackjack is not beatable due to the ante and all the continuous shuffle machines.

I've read several poker books (mostly Sklansky and Miller, but also Super System by Brunson). I usually do ok to fair, but I'm always willing to learn more and get better.

I'll probably be at Winstar this Saturday.

I have made a small fortune playing blackjack. However, I'm currently in the middle of a career change and not working. I have learned many "lessons" playing poker and because of these two things, my bankroll is not what it used to be. I could definitely use some advice/critique for my poker game and I'm willing to put in the time and effort if your willing to help me out.

Later,
JB

i use to play constantly back in high school (constantly being everyday constantly). I did alright according to my tournament record at cardplayer. nothing to impressive. i had to quit though when my parents found out and said it was a big no no. big mess dealing with them. Now im just saving up money to build a little bankroll. so when i can start playing again, i have the money to go at it seriously.

I would consider myself to be a "pretty good" to "good" poker player. I have been playing for a few years, and do pretty well. I would love to meet up with you to compare notes on poker and on PU. PM me if you are interested.

I'm a lil' bit surprised at the response to this post. I couldn't be happier. For a brief moment the other day, I thought I was going to have train a poker player how to be a don juan with the ladies, woo I am so relieved. I'll be getting in contact with you who responded within a couple of days. By the looks of it, I say we might be able to get a roadtrip to vegas going.
