I don't think "black" was the offensive word, it was "finally." The thread title implies that black chicks are not typically hot & sexy, and then the video itself reinforced that.
It surely was not malicious and not the most offensive thing I have ever seen.
Sure the title alluded to the fact that black women are not hot and sexy, but that is lions opinion and preference (either true or not) and there was nothing racist about it. I don't find Asian women attractive, does that make me a racist even though I'm Asian? He did not say anything that implied that he felt one race was superior to another. He did not say anything that was discriminatory.
This thread irks me.
The thread was meant as a joke not something racial. It took that turn when Muk posted his comment. Whether he is offended or not does not matter. What matters is the fact that he saw rascim in something that was not.
I am not black and will never know what it is like to be black, but I am a minority and have experienced my fair share of prejudices. The problem is that many black Americans make things a race issue when it is not. How many times have you heard a black person say, "it's because I'm black"? For me, way more than I should.
I am not naive and understand that racism is very much alive in america today, but I feel that many black Americans blow it out of proportion. What was done to the black community in the 1900's and during the civil rights movement was terrible, but by making the assumption that everything is because of race is one of the things that keep racism alive.
What really bothers me is how black people have contributed to a double standard. Whites, Asians, and Hispanics can not even say the word nigger, yet black people can say it all day long to each other without fear of being called a racist. How is it ok for blacks (or Asians or mexicans) to call white people redneck or cracker, yet not ok for whites to call Anyone a derogatory term (for the record, it's not ok to describe anyone with a derogatory term, but I do it all the time, so fuck off! ;p). Because of this fear of being labeled a racist, the rights of Americans (not just whites) have been limited. People fear the label of being racist so much that freedom of speech is limited.
How is that ok?
Two words. Reverse discrimination.
How is that ok?
NAACP exist. BET exist. The Mexican channel exist. And all is ok. How upset would black people be if there was a National Association for the Advancement of White People (NAAWP)? or white entertainment in which they only broadcasted what white people like to watch? There would be protests and riots in the streets.
How is that ok?
Black people (and other minorities) are the most racist people alive. They should look in the mirror before calling anyone else a racist.
There will always be elitists and racism. Do you want to know how to get back at them? By becoming law abiding citizens that add value to your community. By getting an education, a career and putting yourself in a "better" position than those that think you're inferior. By becoming more sucessful than they can only dream of ever becoming.
Call me a racist if you wish, but I won't care. i just had the balls to say what everyone is thinking.
/end rant
