Pick Up vs. Your religion conflict

Postby Guest » Wed Feb 18, 2009 12:58 am

So I've been trying to deal with this conflict. I am a christian. I don't expect all of you to share the same religious view as me.
I'm asking people who are Christians or share the similar religious view as me on here.
In Christianity, it is wrong to sleep with women outside of your marriage. It is declared as a sin in bible. It goes against my belief.
I don't mean to come off super strict Christian freak, but I believe in God. I'm not one of those religious freak who goes to church all the time and pray 24/7. I go to church on Sundays and try to live my life by the bible's guidance. I do read bible once in a while, too.

When you sleep with women while you are not married, you are committing adultery.
I've been keep trying to tell myself that it is not. (lol yeah I've been trying to deny it)
I feel guilty of what I've been doing with the materials I learned from pick up...
Pick up and my religious view conflicts. I just want to know how you ,any christians or people with similar religious values/views, think of this issue.

I grew up Muslim. Even looking at a woman the wrong way is a sin...

The way I see it: I've lived my whole life abstaining from sins (the best I could). and while I may believe in the religion, there's still that offshoot chance that it's all bs. belief alone isn't enough for me anymore. I fear that I'll live my whole life following rule after rule and it all be for nothing. I decided that I want to get out there and do whatever I want for a while because I won't be young forever. If god really is out there, he wouldn't sentence me to eternal torture for not blindly following rules with no PROOF of anything.

View your pickup journey as self improvement journey to make yourself more attractive to increase your odds of finding that one special woman that you want to marry. There's nothing guilty about that.

You don't have to sleep with anyone if you don't want to or it goes against any kind of personal beliefs.

For any belief, if you want to find some way to justify going against it for some reason that is in your self interest, it's not really much of a belief...it sounds more like a guideline that you want to circumvent.

I think that there is nothing wrong with premarital sex.
Animals can't get married but they still hump like crazy.
I believe if the good that you do outweighs the bad then you are safe.
I think your entrance to heaven should be based on human kindness not whether or not you have sex a lot; that's why men have penises and women have vaginas right? Why are they there if we should not use them???
I am a Christian but do not attend church regularly at all.
Maybe my views on this would change if I did.
That's my two cents on the topic though.

I've never let one group of people(christians) influence my life and dictate my choices. I am plenty capable of thinking for myself. Just because there are a group of people called Christians that subscribe to a certain set of belief's spelled out in the bible, doesn't mean they are right. Lol, just ask the Buddhists, Muslims, Mormon's, etc. Christianity just happens to be more accepted in the US than any other religion.

I pretty much grew up in the Catholic church, went to CCD every Wednesday night and was even an alter boy. But when the I started hearing of all the priests molesting the alter boys I really lost faith in the entire concept. And what made it worse was the Vatican tried to downplay the severity of it all. I just really don't need to hear advice from those types of people.

Then when I see Muslim terrorists blowing up people, airplanes, and buildings.......... I really question religion!

So its ok to go kill people because XYZ religion says so, but its not okay to have consensual sex outside of marriage??????

To want to have sex for pleasure is human. Somewhere a long the way some dude with a short peter must have decided it shouldn't be.
But times are changing and sex is no longer just for "creation". Do you really think GOD would have designed humans to derive pleasure from sex if that was not his intentions???

Sleek, sex is not the main goal of PUA. I'm sure you know this, but if its conflicting with your religious beliefs then don't sleep with any women until you get married. You can still do pua. I can respect you for whatever you decide. But I'd ask myself what is actually wrong with sleeping with multiple women outside of marriage? Is it bad just because a certain group of people think so? And what the hell is so bad about it?

Recently, I've thought about it this way. Sex is fun, but it is only a temporary pleasure in our short life.

Girls these days seem like they won't marry you before you have sex with them and etc lol.

Day after day, you are getting closer to your death. (unless some kind of freak accident happens and you die instantly lol) Today to tomorrow. Tomorrow is one day closer to your death. I want to make best of it. I feel like it's a meaningless temporary pleasure we all want in our life. After the temporary pleasure, it's all over.

sup howie! yea I am not very fond of catholics because of their wrong practices. (not to offend your religion) Catholic has been known to be corrupted in the old days. They had pope and had big role in politics in countries. When you get involved with politics, you tend to be corrupted.. it seems heh. I heard lots stuff bout priests molesting lil boys, too. Pope acts as if he has the divine right to be all high and mighty. I could never be catholic heh.

I believe that religion is a social construct, it was created by men to rule men. It is at best a socialization tool and at worst a way to empower tyrants.

Humans are one of a few species that have sex purely for pleasure. Why ignore that impulse? Just go with it, even if it is temporary and fleeting.

But, you have two solid viewpoints with which to align yourself:

TopDog's you don't have to if you don't want to ideology.

OR

Urban Legend's it's natural and virtue is a function of 'goodness.'

I ascribe to the latter more than the former. But, no one says you have to have sex with any one. Sure, it's a part of the Community, but really it's a very insignificant portion of it.

There's no shame in seeking fulfilling relationships over physical relationships.

This lifestyle is not just about picking up girls for me, it is more for being social with everyone. Like the other day, I asked my professor a question in class which I have never done before. I usually would feel nervous when asking a professor a question during class but now I am not nervous. I did answer questions professors would ask in class but I always felt nervous asking during class. Before pua, I would not talk to classmates next to me unless I want to know what the prof just said, but I am now having conversations with them.

So it isn't just about getting laid, it is more about being confident.

pick up and christian values are not mutually exclusive. If you are working on pick up, you are doing it to build a skill set that is attractive to women. How you use that skill set is up to you. If you use it to attract women for casual sex that is your choice but if your goal is more traditional (if marriage and family can even be called traditional any more) the same skill set will work.

It's about implementation. Remember the success of a pick up is not defined by the fclose. It is defined by success in achieving your goals. You don't have to bang every girl you pick up, you don't have to bang any girl you pick up.
Just work on your skill set until you can attract and keep the kind of girl you want, then find the girl you want to be with and be traditional. You don't have to sleep with anyone until you are married.

There is no invisible man living in the sky.

All religion is politics. Sour news sleek, but christianity is exactly the same as catholicism.

Religion is a way for those higher up to keep everyone else inline. Just like Santa Claus is to little kids. It is simply a way to make you behave.

I could go on and on about the idiocy, and hypocrisy of all religions but I won't. I could go on and on about how there was never anybody on this earth named Jesus Christ, who was merely a composition of many previous religions but I won't. I could give you practical advice about how to live your life in a moral way that won't conflict with your "conflict" but I won't. I could go on and on about how life IS short and please IS fleeting but I won't.

MAKE YOUR OWN FUCKING DECISIONS AND QUIT WHINING

Does that help? Or maybe you should make another post about how to make your own decisions.

I am here to help all who come but I will not help those who can't help themselves.
