I was wondering about this too. I can think of a few reasons:
1. They get contact information for all attendees (to potentially later sell to)
2. They can get an accurate upper limit on head count, to get the cheapest room that is big enough
3. People who are broke or just cheap (who are unlikely to buy) are unlikely to sign up, see 2 above
4. Attendees are psychologically invested in the talk, and will give it more weight

Make no mistake, this will be a sales pitch. What is unknown is whether the rest of the content will be worthwhile. I don't have any reason to expect that it won't be, but I don't know.

Hey guys, I just heard about this from one of the other groups I'm a member of.

Apparently, to attend this "free" seminar, you have to sign a Non-disclosure agreement and a FOUR YEAR non-compete agreement, just to hear Jeffy talk for a couple of hours.

If you are involved in change work, coaching or developing products (or
think you might possibly be in the future), I'd recommend caution in dealing
with RSD.

I don't have any professional plans myself, but I'm philosophically opposed to signing NDAs, Non-Compete's etc. just to hear someone speak. I can respect intellectual property, but a non-compete agreement for a "free" 2 hour talk? Come on. After all, one can buy The Jeffy Show or read his postings as JLaix without signing one's life away.

I was undecided before. Now I'm sure I won't be going.

This seems odd to me I'm going to investigate.

Hi guys, my 2 cents -

I did an RSD bootcamp back in early October with Cristophe and it was my first introduction to game (besides reading "the game" on the plane ride home from breaking up with my LTR...but i digress...)

If this is free my suggestion is that you go... if you're only in it to learn game and better yourself, what do you have to lose?

My experience at the bootcamp was an 8 out of 10 I'd say, which is fairly positive. RSD has great material when it comes to inner game, and being more alpha in general, and certainly dealing with AMOGs. RSD is spawned from MM and alot of it's ideas are reactionary to MM, so in retrospect I think had I learned MM first I would have benefited more from the RSD bootcamp. For a complete beginner I think having some canned material DOES help, but that's something of a hot topic i suppose. In any case, RSD is definatly "natural game" and it's worth a look.

For more advanced gamers, I think RSD has a lot to offer and think abuot.

It DID help my inner game, and it did get a lot of approaches under my belt, and I'm considering getting "blueprints" when it comes out if it is reasonably priced as I believe there will be a lot of value in it, IMHO.

I've heard of Christophe and if it were him I would go. Not so much to learn really anything about game but because he has a unique perspective on spirituality that intrigues me.

My first reaction was, "hey cool. If it's free I'm in."
My position now is that I might sit this one out, even if it is free. I'm limited as to how often I can get to Dallas. I'm passing on some other things that I would much rather attend like Adam London's deal next week. Which is also free, just not logistically possible for me.

As for buying shit like "blueprints," which I'm assuming is an ebook, I bought a lot of shit after I read the game. It's all in a drawer collecting dust. Even at the time that I bought the crap I thought the Value to Price ratio was too low. Now I think it's even less.

I've gotten more out of two or three months worth of hanging out with the egotistical-self centered-pompous-arrogant-annoying-evil-maniacal-social freak that is Westfall than I could ever absorb from all of the multitudinous volumes of collected ebooks which contain the philosophical glut and half-baked epiphanies of every self proclaimed pick up guru or sage of seduction that ever once talked to a girl and then decided to write about it.

Dude, whatever "blueprints" may be... skip it. Save your money. Instead, go out to some public place and talk to people while you are having a good time and doing something you enjoy, whatever that may be. Play with your comfort zone and you'll get more out of it that sitting in a chair at a seminar/sales pitch.

oh get a room you two.

no really you're right, but personally i don't go out on weekdays because my job suffers when i try to roll that way, so i've made a decision in my life that 2 nights a week is what i can give up to gaming. so in my downtime i like to read up and all.

just on a personal note, and i think some folks just are this way, i feel much more confident and comfortable undertaking anything in life if I feel that i am knowledgable and prepared for it. so even if it's a sugar pill, a couple routines here and a theory there actually help my approach anxiety, but I suppose everyone's different.
