First major music event I'll be attending is the Electric Daisy Carnival
Bunch of Electronic Music, and from the videos, and the feedback I hear from it, it's going to be pretty awesome
but I'll be going alone, and hoping to find some people to kick it with there

But this is something totally alien to me. I don't know much about Electric music, and I'm hoping this will be my introduction to the genre and scene.
Who is the typical Carnival-goer? Young, Drunk, and Trippin on LSD?
What should I expect?
Judging on the Video, I wouldn't expect it to be a bunch of "couples" seems like something a group of friends would go out for.
How do I approach a group at such a high energy level?

At that carnival there will more than likely be a bunch of young people rolling and flailing glow sticks everywhere. I think it is a safe bet that a ton of people there will be on some sort of drug. It just goes hand in hand with the electronic music culture.

I have no idea about electronic concerts, that music annoys me so I don't go to them. But at most concerts it is really quite easy to strike up a conversation in between sets. You obvious already have one thing in common...music. Ask who they are there to see, and start talking about the music that you like. Make a comment about whoever just preformed, or is about to go on next. Ask what they think of the act coming up next and that you are trying to get into electronic music and what "bands" do they recommend you start with. Make a situational comment (there are a ton of these at concerts).

Money line at concerts:

Bull Run: "Let me guess...you 'discovered them' (use air quotes) before they hit it big..."

Everyone always laughs and says yes. It seems everyone fancies themselves some kind of talent scout. And their favorite bands were discovered by them before they became popular and cool.

After they say yes, you say something like this:

Bull Run: "I only started liking them after they got popular because I like to be a lemming and follow the crowd...so, I heard something about a bunch of people jumping off a bridge after the show are you going too?"
HB Music Goer: "Hahaha...you're so funny Bull Run. I want you to fuck my ass then stick your dick in my mouth..." Or something along those lines ;)
