Post your best negs.

“Don't be silly, grey is the new blonde”

“I like your haircut, its really retro”

“It's so refreshing to have a conversation with someone who doesn’t feel she has to prove how smart she is.”

“I think it's so cool that you're comfortable with how you look”

"I like your glasses. They're nerdy, and nerdy is the new sexy."
-I don't know why, but chicks love that. It's like how all chicks like to think they're dorks, they all like to say that they're nerds or that they're attracted to nerds. That's why you see a lot of chicks wearing t-shirts that say "I love nerds" or "talk nerdy to me." Just saying, "you're such a nerd" is a great playful neg.

I have a variation of the nails neg that I have been trying out with some success. If I see a girl with very bright or unusual eyes, I ask her, "are you wearing colored contacts?" If she says yes, then I just say, "oh... well... they look nice," just like the nails neg. But if they say no, then I say, "oh, they're a cool color. They almost don't look natural." One reason this works for me is that we usually spend 5-10 seconds looking into each others eyes, and she usually gives me a compliment about MY eyes. Of course, this doesn't work so well with a hispanic girl with brown eyes (obviously not colored contacts) or a black girl with blue eyes (they obviously are colored contacts).

"Your earrings are just like the bad guys in that old Nintendo game."

Somewhat DLV/nerdy but went over well at the time.

Not sure if this is a neg in the true sense of the word:

" you must be the troublemaker in the group"

Always gets a laugh. Works better in the daytime though, for whatever reason.

That is a good one. It's funny, "you must be the good girl of the group" works just as well, and usually results in a playful smack on the arm. No girl wants to be considered the good girl of the group. It's almost like calling her a bad girl is a natural indicator of interest and calling her a good girl is an inherent indicator of disinterest. Both work though.

Here’s one for those girls that wear those big hoop earrings.

“Sea world called… They want to know when you’re going to return those dolphin hoops. They have a show to do.”

I love that one--I'm going to borrow it.

I also like "You know, you're very beautiful...and by beautiful, I don't mean in the conventional since, like visually appealing, but you charismatic smile...is beautiful in a non-traditional way"

also for the big hoop earrings from david d.
"you know some people so rich they use bracelets as earrings." (or something like that.)

my version:
"why do you have bracelets on your ears?"

I think this is getting a little off track. The original poster was talking about negs and the thread has derailed into C/F. A neg has to be mostly compliment with a hint of a reason to be insecure.

Here's one that went over well for me recently. I think it's from Mystery.
"I like your shoes. They look comfortable."
