What would have been my best response in this situation?

Since I work close to Twin Peaks in Plano, I go there a couple of times a month for lunch or happy hour. By now, I know about half of the waitresses on a first name basis. So when I went in Wednesday afternoon I was talking to several of them at a time and I was also "negging" the hostess for being lazy and for being young.

I had two wings at the table and we were talking to ourselves without any females present when I got hit with the "hands covering my eyes by someone from behind" trick. Since I was sitting at a high bar table I was really caught off guard. I actually froze up trying to think of what to do or something funny to say. After a few awkward seconds she took her hands off my eyes and walked away without saying a word. I never said a word either. It was the 18 year old hostess who ended up leaving about 15 minutes after that incident.

I want to get better and keep improving my game, so if I ever encounter that situation again I want to crush it. So what would have been my best response in that situation?

It seems odd that she would do this without any interaction prior to this. Did you have some interaction with the hostess (other than normal seating business) before the 'hands over the eye trick?' That may help determine an appropriate response.

Without any further background, off the top of my head, I can think of the following:

"I might recognize you if you placed those hands MUCH lower."

"Ms. Aniston, you know Angelina is going to get jealous when you do that."

"Sweetie, I only feel two hands. You promise you'd bring a friend."

And so on.

Shit, anything would of work from a simple "yeeeees?" (which was the first thing I thought when I read this) to "damn it guys, is this my psycho exgirlfriend again?" Though when you go back there don't feel awkward around her for she was probably had been feeling awkward, too.

Thanks for the feedback.

Warrior, it was kind of odd because she had already come back to the table several times to talk. I had also already talked to all the girls I knew in there which is why it threw me off.

Mojo, thanks for point out that she may be feeling awkward next time. I didn't really think about that but I'll be interested to see if I can get her to hang out at the table again.
