Of late I have been using many ice breakers that are really off the wall and funny! I told a hot blonde a week ago that she had a nice jaw line. Soon after that I spilled a beer on her....she still stayed around! A week before that I had told a gal at a bar that she had very straght, white teeth. This gal with the nice teeth I pounded her for a couple of weeks untill I was bored!

What is social proof and how do you develop it. Is it just where a buddy walks by and pats you on the back saying hi?

Social proof is from Robert Cialdini's book on social psychology called "Influence".
Social proof affects alot of things, not just women in a bar environment. The stock market is a good example.

When all the newspapers and media are saying the market is going down, it does. People follow what other people are doing.

If a girl sees a girl that is just like her with you, then she will more likely want to see herself with you.

This is why you want to open the friends first or open adjacent sets first. The target will most likely be influenced by the fact that her friends like you.

IMHO Social proof is deeper than this and conveys much more. If you have a lot of friends, for example, you are less likely too be a serial killer. Serial killers are creepy and don't have friends. It also tells people that you are a fun person to be around.

Hint: You can't gain social proof by sitting around the house surfing pick up message boards. You have to get out and make REAL LIFE friends.

actually had a really cute icebreaker used on me last night...how much does a polar bear weigh. she asked...i was thinking wtf opinion opener? enough to break the ice...it was pure canned cheese but she pulled it off...well that's it now i'm back to stalking the pickup boards. lmao
