Designing tools for sticking points

I've been trying to design actual techniques and tools for sticking points I have.

I've been calling them "Set Management Tools", because that's pretty much what they are.
Most of these are not based on getting attraction or comfort but more on solving problems within the set.

An example of this is the often quoted "Introduce me to your friend, that's the polite thing to do."

Thus in a two-, three- or mixed set situation, you are introduced to the group. It gets compliance because the girl is somewhat of a social violator for not introducing.

That's a management tool. I have no idea what the other guys call them.

Anyway I came up with one that helps for moving girls.

First, you qualify.

Let's say you say "What would you say are your best qualities?"

She tells you "I'm smart, artistic and a great friend"...

You say "Wow...artistic? Promise to tell me all about it."
She'll say "Promise"
You say "Pinky swear?"
(then pinky swear)
Then you say "Ok let's go over here, its too loud." and you isolate.

(This assumes friends are not blocking or you've won them over)

The reason it will work is it gets a commitment. Remember that commitment and consistency are Cialdini principles. They get compliance.

( If she won't promise to tell you about it, then back up and tease her and do another qualifier)

At that point, moving is a snap.

So set management tools are used to solve problems. Its like inventing a technique for each sticking point you have.

And I believe alot of what we do when we're doing it well is set management.

I agree it's like when people say "escalate on her highpoints" well the easiest way to escalate on her high point is to cause her to make one. Or like you said cause a commitment from her.

Also I have found that when she refuses compliance that I was always asking for something too big. It's better to have alot of small compliance tests then a sudden huge one.
