I'm having writer's block, I guess, when trying to write up my own material. I'm not sure how to come up with stuff in a way that it doesn't come off as bragging or whatever...I'm rereading MM to see if maybe I missed some part that helps with this...but anyone have any ideas on how to do this? I'm needing to can some stuff for myself...I keep going blank.

Try and think abou tall the stories you have ever told that got good reactions from your friends. That would be a good place to start.

Why don’t you post one of these stories and we’ll see if we can help you.

Hi Smirks,

I am considering carrying a notepad, and writting such stories down as they come to me. Both for PUA & for comedy--as I want to try stand-up comedy. I also encounter situations, that I tweak into DHV stories.

Ex1: I was at North Park Mall with a friend, and we were by the water fountain thing, you know with all the ducks?

And some rich asshole had thrown a $10 bill in the pond...I guess they really wanted that wish to come true. Anywho, I told my friend she should go get the $10, but she didn't want to fall in. I told her I'll hold you, so you don't fall in the water.

Sometimes I think women will never learn... Anywho, so I let go and *splash* then I run off and hide. She was really pissed when it happened, but now we just laugh at it.

This is far more intersting than the reality behind this story.

Exactly! I'm the same way. I embellish my real life until it becomes interesting...not always, but ANYTHING can be made interesting with a little creativity.

That reminds me of the movie Big Fish. The main guy in the movie does just that. Twist all his stories to make them more interesting.

Something that I occasionally like to do, is tell a girl about the dork I met recently, and slowly introduce more details until she realizes I am talking about her.

WF: I met this dorky girl at North Park mall recently, she was wearing this goofy red shirt and kept hitting on me. She was kinda cute, though not really my type. What was her name....(thinking)....Ah yes, Morgan.

 Oh. Uh, sorry.

Haha...I like that one.

I get the point now. Basically anything, when told "creatively" is good for this. That makes a lot more sense, and pretty simple to do. I'll take some time to write up a couple to see what you think if I get some free time at work.

I'm still working on this part of my game too, but like it was said earlier, the truth is not always as ... fun... :D

Have you guys tried any of the gems in the best of craigslist section? They're already exaggerated a bit and you can make it relate to yourself so it seems more authentic.

I'm in the process of writing these myself. I have about 8 or so stories for DHV and am working on my grounding story.
