WF: Line of the Week

Postby Westfall » Mon Oct 29, 2007 12:43 pm

I used to get blown out as a result of my eccentric personality...well I still do, but now I just use this as a screen, as I'd rather find out if she is my type early on in the set.

One such screen is humor. I will test a girl's sense of humor, as I require a girl that can deal with my unique sense of humor (see cringe humor).

This results in some really funny lines and if delivered in the right frame some very postive responses. It also establishes me as unquie & eccentric, which is pefererable to hiding these qualities from a girl hoping to get laid...

Line of the week:
HB (already attracted): And the procedes go to help victums of domestic violence.
WF: My exes?

She burst out laughing, and I complimented her on her unquiness.

In sarging, don't hide qualities you dont think are unattractive to women, present them possitively and screen for women.

Ill even intentionally DLV (or do something that appears DLV on the surface) that is actually DHV in that it is shows I'm not seeking approval.

WF: Yeah, Mom warned me. This is what happens when I dress myself...

I don't like this "line of the weeK". You are insinuating that you beat your exes? WTF is wrong with you? If the girl is involved with that kind of charity, she or somebody she knows might have had some unfortunate personal experience. It could easily turn her off...big time. And...She might be a great girl. This is not a good line. Nothing funny about it IMO. I can not imagine a chick thinking this is funny at all.

You're lucky she or somebody else didn't start pounding on your ass after you made that statement.

You say it's "unique and eccentric"? How about creepy?

NOT COOL IMO!

I think youre right Johnny,

However.

I think WF is right too.

The problem with game is that what works for 1 person doesnt work for another. I have actually used something simular as I am sure alot of others here have as well.

When asked, "Am I trouble?" I say something like, "Yes, I'll beat you mercilessly and constantly cheat on you with my harem of women."

Although I usually only say this when i am asked, WF is taking the active approach in seeking to skip anyone that doesnt appreciate his eccentric humor. I think thats a good thing.

I opened a girl with, "Hi, I've got herpes, Want to dance?" And she opened. What you say is really irrelavant, you are looking for qualities and they are likewise. This just means the type of girl WF is looking for is different than that of which you are looking for.

So ultimately you guys are both right.

Another way to follow up such a comment would be to launch into a protector of loved ones DHV story.
it would look like this:
ME:My exes?(or I know I'm a terrible boyfriend, definetly dont date me)
Her:hahaha
ME: just kidding. I am a bad boyfriend though. Oh,that reminds of the time my friend was in trouble........

Also, tonality is VERY important when making such comments. It needs to be said in a way that they know your joking, but that you still said it.
"Ask what makes you come alive and do it, because what the world needs is people who have come alive."
"Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt."
"No one gives it to you, you have to take it."

Well, I don't really care if you think it's cool or not. That line worked on the girl, she laughed and it set me apart from other guys. It also communicated I have a sense of humor, and that I only like girls who can appericate my unique personality (since I told her this after she laughed). It doesn't really matter what you say as much as you might think. You really can say almost anything to a girl as long as you are smiling when you do it.

i really doubt a girl would be offended by that if you said it in a very dramatic way. then people know you're just joking around.

HB: all proceeds will go to victums of dometic violence

Me: What?! Aww man, my exes?!, nooooo!!!!!

Westfall...You posted this on a public forum. Therefore, it's open to critique and opinion. No need to get all pissy about it. If you don't want to hear opinions about your topics, then don't post! Simple.

Who's willing to do this experiment?

You go to a charity event for domestic violence and while you're there you decide it would be funny to make jokes about inflicting domestic violence on your ex-girlfriends?

Sure. Why not. WTF was I thinking? Go for it. You'll be the life of the charity event!

Personally, I think that you can joke about the most vile things and still get away with it. It's like el fenix said, it's all about the tone.

Take George Carlin for instance, he jokes about religion, politics, violence, and rape. And he still gets the entire audience to laugh.

In fact, one of his bits was about how "rape can be funny". The entire bit, he's dissecting comedy and talking about rape. I know this is a touchy issue (one of my exes comes to mind), but he made it a key issue that exageration and tonality were a bit part of it.

Heh... if you can joke about rape, then you can joke about anything

P.S. I really like Finesse's "I like herpes, wanna dance line?" lol

Two things...

1. The people who don't like Carlin don't go to his shows. The people who go do like him and know what to expect from him. Of course the whole audience thought he was funny - that's why they were there! The ones who don't think he's funny weren't there.

2. He wasn't presenting it at a charity event for rape victims. Big difference.

There is a time and place for that. A charity event for whatever population your making fun of is not the time or place. Others obviously feel otherwise.

Just my .02
