Calibration

I've heard this term quite a bit before, but I'm still not sure on what the exact meaning of it is. Can someone clarify?

calibration is the act of figuring out how youre doing in set. For instance when you open and get a less than favorable response, how do you proceed, do you neg, or DHV. When do you neg, and so on and so forth. When are you recieving a shit test, and is it really a shit test?

A good way to grasp the basic understanding of intro-calibration is this,

When you give an IOI, be ready with an IOD to add to the end of it. When you give an IOD be ready with an IOI.

That is a very basic way to start understanding calibration.

Example:

IOI
You have very pretty eyes.

If she says or acts unfavorably (which you will be able to see)

IOD
Can I touch them?

So that way it takes a little sting off your IOI.

I don't think that is the full story. Did you ever do chemistry experiments in school? The first attempts went horribly wrong because you miscalbrated something. Eventually, through trial and error, the correct balance was found. Its not that the method was flawed just the calibration of the elements involved, when and how to apply them.

Calibration to me is the serene feeling you get from knowing what is about to happen next then reacting accordingly ... and being right. Only comes with practice. Even down to how comfortable you are in venues, how adept at crowd control, etc...

Finesse gives a good example. If you are calibrated you can reframe a bad thread (as per his example). Or more to the point you will know HOW and WHEN to reframe something. These are the raw materials of the trade.

1. move from attraction to comfort building (isolating her)?
2. any time limits for each phase?
3. how do you check if she is interested?
4. kiss?
5. and when to escalate to seduction?

Any Ideas?

I know you test her, anything specific that has worked for you?

These are all covered in the Venusian Arts Handbook... I will answer you with primarily hat I remember from it rather than my personal experiences on this:

1. move from attraction to comfort building (isolating her)?

This is when she qualifies (A3 becomes C1) - "Follow me to the patio a minute, I want to show you my vacation photos"

2. any time limits for each phase?

None, this stuff can all go down within seconds. Micro-calibration happens fast - you are ready with an IOD the moment she says something off or shows disinterest

3. how do you check if she is interested?

Indicators Of Interest (she touches you, laughs, continues conversation, squeezes your hand back when you do trust test, grinds her ass to your crotch, many more)

4. kiss?

In the VAH, its recommended to practice calibrating the best time to do this, but its always past C1, and most targets prefer isolation for a "real" kiss

5. and when to escalate to seduction?

After you bounce ANYWHERE, meeting location is different than the sex location is really the only thing here (car, bathroom, but most usually at your/her place)
