I found this fascinating.

once you master the Perfect game, you do the imperfect game. So as not to come off as a player or look too smooth. You only do this with things that are inconsequential for you getting the girl. you play the perfect game with all the necessary things for you to get the girl and lose on the ones that don't matter, so as not to come across as a player.

They did say that you need to master the perfect game, before going for the imperfect game!
