How to "punish" a girl effectively

It's often mentioned that one needs to "reward good behavior" and "punish bad behavior". I'd like to get your feedbacks on the 2nd part. What do you usually do as casual "punishments" that won't end up insulting her & dropping the whole thing?

Attention.

Assuming you are past attraction, to punish, you subtract attention.

Sometimes you can spike the attention and then take it away. Example: "spank" her for being bad and then ignore.

It doesn't have to be physical that, and in fact, unless youre into seduction or deep sexual comfort already, physical shouldn't be used.
