The Power of Anchoring

Anchors are stimuli that call forth states of mind - thoughts and emotions.
To get this started I want to state that I do not know how to anchor... yet.
When I am in a social setting, such as school, work (but not so much work), eating at the mall, library, or even at home, and nothing particular has my attention, I try to observe the things around me and see how people are reacting and how I am reacting and relate that to pick up. I just find it fun, and it could come to benefit me one day. Who knows.
Today I was in class and sitting next to this girl I always sit next to, Hb8 I would never have had the balls to sit next to her w/o the community, and I smelled something familiar coming from her direction.
Warm Vanilla Sugar from Bath and Body Works.
The reason I know this scent is because my ex, and oneitis, used to wear this crap all the time.
The reason I am telling you this is because I was just sitting in class and this one scent reminded me of my ex and brought back lots of memories of the times I spent with her.
I was not thinking of her previously, nor have I for a while.
It was this scent, this anchor that brought her into my mind.
After I had these thoughts of my ex I realised that this is anchoring.
Then I realised the power of it.
I thought if I could get a girl to get this thoughts of me when she is admitted(not the right word, but I cannot think of the right word) to a certain stimuli then it would be money.
Like my ex owned my thoughts when I smelled this scent.
I even tried staring at my neighboring class mates tits for a couple of seconds and that didn't get my ex out of my mind.
I think this form of anchoring is definitely a more natural way of anchoring because it is applied through repetition of seeing the person and associating them with this stimuli.
I am no expert on NLP, but I do believe if you limit using it it is not a bad thing.
I don't want to be or suggest you be like Ross Jeffries, but you can take some of his material such as anchoring and use it.
I just thought I would share this experience with you all.
What are your thoughts on anchoring?
