Anyone used social dancing to get women?

I've been dancing socially (Salsa, Cha-cha, Rumba, etc..) for the past year and I have to say I like it a lot... I kinda started it as a social activity and ultimately to meet women... which I do. But I want to step it up a bit. So I'm wondering if anyone had any experience with meeting women through dancing.
BTW, my advice to the younger guys on the board : Invest in yourselves and learn to dance, play an instrument, do something social that the majority of the people cannot do. It'll enhance your lives, and increase your social value. This applies to older guys too, but I'm sure they have figured it out on their own.
Anyways, there seem to be two distinct ways to meet women in dancing circles. 1) Women in your dance class. 2) Women in weekend dance socials. There are a lot of dance studios and most offer dance socials on the weekends.
The dance classes get a mix of people, depending on the dance studio, but usually women starting in late 20s and up. Mostly in 30s, divorced and w/children. I'm generalizing here, obviously. The demographics also depends on the location and the instructors too. Quality is very good in the beginner classes but it subsides as you progress. Quality ladies for some reason tend to drop out. So you kind of have to act fast. But the problem is you don't want to appear to aggressive, you gotta tread carefully, as the word will spread among the ladies in the class that you're a player (maybe there is nothing wrong with that, as a lot of women, too, are there to meet men, and ladies may become interested in you via preselection. What do you guys think?).
Quality in the dance socials is much better in some places. But most has an older crowd (older even for me). The women including the HBs are very easy to meet. All you have to do is go and ask them to dance. Take it from there. It's instant social proof. I've had women come up to me and introduce themselves.
If you're a really good dancer, then the quality gets much better (HB10s and HB11s, man, they are just the sexiest women I have ever seen. My goal is to have enough confidence and dance skills to be able dance with them one day). But you have to be really good... so good that you 'll be able to lead her (they tend to be amazing dancers) and have enough variety in your moves that she won't be bored. They tend to be more in clubs (mambo cafe, Gloria's, etc) than anywhere else. Now if you can lead them on the dance floor and they have fun, I'd speculate that they'd subconciously think that you'd be a good lover who will be able to satisfy them and protect them, and that they will have fun whenever they are with you. Now that's my speculation, if anyone has real experience to confirm or deny this, let me know.
Anyways I'd like to explore especially dance socials, and then clubs, more, but I hate showing up on my own. My buddies are mostly AFCs. If anyone would be interested in winging PM me. I also have a pretty good idea about various dance studios and instructors in town, and know the best ways to get started with dancing.
If anyone has other ideas on how to meet women in dancing circles, I'd be interested to hear.
