Hmmm... on the surface I want to agree with you, however, what is the difference in playing some magic or mind reading trick or using "canned" material and you memorizing a bunch of one line zingers?

I mean really how much about any of us is really us? Any knowledge we may have about anything in life is usually taken from someone else in the form of reading what someone else wrote unless you're a researcher or scientist of some kind. I would agree that tricking a girl into thinking something was fate is a little different from playing a fun game with her. I'm not sure if you're criticizing this specific trick or fun and playful ones too?

man I have to agree with both sides on this one. Yes being genuine is awesome. There is basically few things that I find in pickup to be as powerful as just being genuine. At the same time to say that you should not manipulate things to your advantage is dumb. Manipulation is one of the greatest tools as well. If you walk up to a group of girls and guys (mixed set) the way you deal with the guys will most likely involve you manipulating the social situation.

I mean thats all improving social skills is, learning how to manipulate and manage your social interactions. Card tricks and magic may be an advanced form of this but if it gets the job done and the guy is getting the results he wants who cares? If you are completely genuine and do well too then who cares?

Chances are though that even the guys saying they are completely genuine manipulate as well just not to the same level. I am sure you don't just walk up and say like hey i really want to bang you honestly? Also I live in a messy apartment and i would prefer a 3some. lol I mean even guys that are honest manipulate to some degree on what they disclose and the wording they choose.

I've used magic tricks for years...they've been one of my greatest tools. But the misundestanding in the community is if you whip out a magic trick and think you're impressing a girl....especially a card trick.

The trick never gets the girl...it's how magic or other social skills enhance your personality that can generate attraction. But there's a very fine line between being a clown and DHV'ing when using magic and the like.

If you come across "trying to impress" you'll most likely fail. The key is the unexpected trick, not doing too many, not acting like you came out to do magic and then not getting attention-drunk when a trick goes well so that you turn into a dancing monkey.

The problem is that most guys don't learn the right tricks and the right methods. Most magic is taught for magicians trying to entertain...not PUA's trying to "attract."

I def agree with the above post. It's not this "deceptive" measure that wins anyone over. It's the delivery.

These gambits are best done non-chalantly and with the purpose of amusing yourself. The tricks may sound gay when we read them off a computer screen, but if done right, with the right frame...they are very useful and fun tools.

Granted, if these are the only things in your toolbox, or if you actually have a real toolbox (or prop bag like Carrot Top), you might be trying too hard...lol.

Well calibrated frames make champions.

There is a great demonstration of a magic in action. Proper frame, well demonstrated. This guy is completely congruent with what he's doing

The video is on youtube but the trick is broken down really well on this blog post.

Really well done. This guy is one of Style's trainers.

The value of this technique aside, one way to improve it is to show the entire pad, sans top sheet. Then fish for the pen(cil) in your pocket and rub for the indentation slowly. Say that the post-it is at home. You can draw this one out and make it more like a magic trick that a freak instance of pre-cog.

I know it isn't an earth-shattering improvement, but it still counts.
