That was a kickass post Bull-run. Three more points of parallel from basketball:

1) Assists: you can't tear down the entire defense by yourself all the time. A good wingman gets you the much-needed extra mile. Sure a split-D dunk is nice, but the most spectacular ones are those ingenious alley-oops.

2) Rebound: don't eject and give up because the ball didn't go in the first time - know where to position yourself and the ball may just bounce back to the one on the look;

3) Factor in the genetic make-up: some of us probably will never be Lebron 'cause we aren't born to jump that high, but didn't Nash almost nail down three MVPs and still could post up these craze 30+, 40+ scoring nights when he wanted?

Merry Christmas ; )

Excellent insight Bull Run...One more parallel, most competitive sports are a team effort. By being actively involved in community to develop it and other members it can only lead to a win-win situation. I like your thinking pattern.

You guys got it right. The parallels are endless. This entire post was a fancey metaphor. What we do can be explained by the simplest of terms and the most convenient (sp?) of definitions. Figure out a way to relate 'the Game' to something in your life. Then, you will definitely see the forest for the trees.

See you in the scene.
