How To Blast Through Sticking Points‏

by Captain Jack

If you are going out and doing ANY amount of field work you are bound to start noticing "sticking points."
I remember after I was fresh out of the Mystery Bootcamp and I was forcing myself to go out (even all by my lonesome!) and open sets. Man, I was friggin' TERRIFIED most of the time.

But, like a good little soldier I repeatedly hopped on the grenade and opened sets. I soon noticed that I WAS MY OWN WORST ENEMY. After a few nights of practice I had a really great set. It was a3set of girls HB7, 7.5 and an 8.

I had them going as I tossed out story after story, threw out chick crack like confetti and had themcrawling all over me.

I thought, "SWEEEEET" - so you know what I did? Just when thingswere going awesome, I TURNED AND WALKED AWAY!!!!

Afterwards I kicked myself, "Why? Why? Whyyyyyy! Did you walk awayyou buffoon?" (As I'm writing this email I'm emailing back and forth with a VERYHOT HB9 and attempting to get her to come over to my place tonight.I closed her friend 2 weeks ago and took this new girl out a couplenights ago.

Maybe I'll get her to come over by the time this emailis through.) It happened again and again. I had a sticking point where I'd automatically walk away when things were going good.

But, I blasted through that one by consciously deciding that "Iain't walking away unless I attempt to isolate first!"

Then, I went out and did 9-12 sets a night with the goal of isolating a girl in every set. I blasted through that sticking point. Right after that, an ugly sticking point reared its head. I would be in set and just wheneverything seemed to start going good I would NEG THE UG! Needless to say I'd make a quick exit after that as a few times they lookedas if they were going to bust out in tears!

And, of course, their friends had this pained look on their face as they felt the UGspain. Ouch! (Ha ha! She just emailed me back, she's playing dumb by ignoring my first attempt and asking about my hat collection rather than justsaying yes.

Damn ASD! We are emailing instead of chatting on thephone because she got her identity stolen so her cell is no good. )

How To Blast Through Sticking Points

Do you keep a journal? On Mystery's Lounge they have a sectionwhere the PUA's can keep a journal or log of their activities. I've found this highly valuable to organizing my thoughts andmethodically working through sticking points.
Here's my 3 step plan (isn't nearly everything a 3-step plan?) forblasting through SP's:

1. Identify your SP
2. Modify your game to smooth out or give you extra practice ony our SP
3. Do 9-12 sets with your SP Busting Game Plan in mind.

Also, I found it is best to work on at least 2 but no more than 3SP's at a time.
The reason is because the SP usually doesn't manifest it in every set. Some sets will be smooth like butta, other sets you may get blown out and other sets the socialsituation related to the SP will just not manifest.

Each night you go out and do 9-12 sets you will probably only get areal opportunity in 2-3 of the sets for each SP. So, having atleast 2 SP's to work on will speed things along.

As always, feel free to email me with any questions, observationsyou may have... Go have some fun!

P.S. Just got an email from the HB9, she can't make it. :-( Oh well, she already told me several times she wants to hang out again so it is just a matter of time!

P.S.S. The next email is titled, "A Simple Way To Become Instantly More Attractive!" and will be arriving in your inbox tomorrow.
Why should I listen to you when you don't even get laid?

This is the important part and how Captain Jack was able to get really good. He later posted his Stickng Point Analysis post which was should go along with this post.

Here's what I do....

I'm going out. I then approach and then I go home and write a field report detailing what happened. I keep it like a journal.
Then I look for trends and sticking points. Those are where your sets fail over and over.

Then I look for fixes. Either good examples from the community or my own experience or imagination.

I try to step back into the experience as it happened and then re-run it with the fix.

I then go back out into the field and as he says here, test 2-3 sticking points.

Later I will post on how to use the Swish Pattern for making changes.

Thats all for now.
