I heard they lost their liquor license because in that area "bars" are not allowed, so places like Martini Park have to be "restaurants". But I heard they weren't selling enough food relative to the amount of alcohol, and consequently lost their liquor license.

If you buy a beer you buy a chip. How are these fuckers not smarter?

How much are beers? They are 1 dollar sir. Ohh really that isn't bad at all. But if you buy a beer it is mandatory you buy that chip right there. You don't have to eat it but you still have to buy it. Ok well how much is it? It is 1 dollar sir.

They tried variations on that. TABC looks at your books, and they could tell what was going on, and called 'em on it. It's
been an ongoing process, they basically couldn't get it done even with 6+ months of notice they were in trouble for the
alcohol percentage of sales being far too high. Supposedly early on right after they opened the legit number was over 90%
of income from alcohol sales.

Basically they had a good, moneymaking concept and execution, they just fucked up by putting it where they did with the
alcohol sale laws as they are.

That so stupid, why can't you have a "bar" in plano. Laws are dumb, kinda like how you can't buy liquor on sundays.

Because they're in Collin County, which is dry. Game, set, match.

Note that TABC doesn't really care how much of a % the alcohol sales are, as long as they get their proper cut
of the proceeds. It's the local government that brought the hammer down. From what I've been able to find out
they were trying to work something out but were hamstrung by the existing laws. There was supposed to be some
kind of vote on changing the laws to allow more leeway on January 12, but I haven't heard of any results from
that supposed meeting/vote.

Its too bad, that place adds a lot. There is definitely a need for a venue like that in the area. Government and Economics.........always a mess.

I was at Cru (across the street) less than a week ago, and there are rumors that it will be back. Not sure about the timeframe or how different it will be.
