Primo’s is a Tex Mex restaurant in the heart of Uptown, on Mckinney avenue. They have a nice patio facing Mckinney avenue, which is often packed, and an enclosed area for when the weather turns chilly. The food is some of the best Tex Mex in Dallas, which is a tall order indeed. The fajitas, and quesadillas are superb and locally famous. Many celebs can be spotted here. It’s very much “a place all the locals know.”
The staff is very professional and friendly. They are very good at remembering the regulars.

Hot Times:
Primo’s is a very popular happy hour spot, Monday-Friday. It’s busy from 5-7:30 or so during these days. Tuesday however is THE night to be here. The $2 (strong)margaritas are a great draw, and they stay busy until 10pm or so. Friday and Saturday nights, it can occasionally get packed in the bar area, while the restaurant is very busy those nights.
Mav’s or Stars home games often pack it out as well, with it kicking up a notch after the games are over.

Type of people:
Primo’s tends to bring a variety of of people, but 25-35 tends to be the normal range. It’s NOT packed with the college types. Young, urban professionals, to mid age business types tend to be the most of the clientèle. Sophisticated, without being snooty. Has much of the feel of a great local hangout, where people can chat and mix

Parking:
None available on site, but valet is often an option across the street, and nearby side streets are easy to park on, without the fear of being towed.

Drink Prices:
$-$$
Tuesdays: $2 Margaritas all day
Sat/Sun: $3 bloody Mary’s and mimosas 11am-4pm
