Here's a a link to the blog of OK Cupid. A free dating site. I became interested in them when I heard the owners being interviewed on NPR. In case some of you are unaware, NPR doesn't report bullshit. They only have the cold hard facts.

I found it interesting most men (some 80%) were rated as having below average looks by women in general. While most women (around 60%) were rated were rated above average by most men. Food for thought.

That just shows how many men have lower standards than they are willing to admit. I'm pretty sure I fall into the 40% that rates them below average because I have no problem rating a girl a 3 or 4 on the internet even if it tells them I said it because I don't have to listen to them complain about it...

When I rate people I think in terms of the elephant man being a one and someone like Julie Anne Moore or Angelina Jolie as being a 10. Sense the average woman in the USA is about 40 pounds over weight, I rate these women as a 5.
However, in the real world, I simply rate women as either yes I'd fuck her or no I wouldn't fuck her.

I subscribe to the pass / fail methodology when in the field. For anything beyond a romp, looks become more of a factor.
