Trying out the "Insiders Internet Dating" program.

Postby Scoundrel » Sun Oct 21, 2007 10:20 am

These are emals to and from a 10 I found on my space. I’m using the techniques I learned from the Dave M “Insiders Internet Dating” program (http://www.insiderinternetdating.com/IIDindex1.htm). All my emails were crafted in the style he recommended with a little MM thrown in here and there.

BTW no BS, this chick IS a 10. One of her pics is of her in an evening gown at the Emmys! I don’t watch TV at all, so if she is on it, I don’t know what show she’s from.

*The subject line I used was “This Myspacer MIGHT be interested in you.“ My first message to her*

Hey there,

You know, I really hate writing messages to people I don’t know. It feels awkward. But, I was looking through profiles and you caught my eye. I couldn’t let this opportunity pass through my fingers.

I’ll bet you get about 50 emails a day from boring social retards saying smutty things to you or dirty old men trying you buy your affections. Well, if that’s what you’re used to, this should be a refreshing change.

My name is ***, I’m a tall, good looking, all around fun guy. And I make GREAT popcorn! But, if you don’t like Blues guitar playing this love affair is already on the rocks. (wink)

So, I read your profile and it’s sort of short. I can’t tell if you’re more than another pretty face or not. So, I guess I have to ask a question.

When you were a little girl, what did you ant to be when you grew up?

Hey, we’re both here to meet new people and the worst thing that could happen is I make a new friend. Right?

I’m hoping to hear from you.

Cheers

*Dave M says to mention something from her profile, but her profile was little more than “If you want to know something, just ask.“ There was nothing in it to ask her about. So, I used the “What did you want to be…“ and she sent this reply*

well I do get quite a few emails.
3 pages today.
and actually everyone has been pretty nice
and not to forward. :)
still workin on the profile.
just made it 3 days ago.
I love the guitar I can play myself! and the piano.
and almost any instrument I pick up. lol.
I dont know what I wanted to be.
I have always been indecisive.

*She sent a reply. That is an IOI and I got an SOI about guitar playing. Next I went for the number close*

I’m so glad you sent me a reply (her name here)!

Wow, three pages is a lot. I only got 4 (that’s emails, not pages LOL)

So, you play music too. That’s great! I love to play my guitar. Some people take a warm bath to relax, but I play guitar. Although a warm bath is nice too. I’m going to have one as soon as I send this.

I have a short video of me playing a little guitar at www.youtube.com/scoundrelblues Check it out and let me know what you think.

And you play piano too! Wow, you are too cool! I don’t play piano, but I have a close friend that plays classical piano. He’s on myspace too! (link to my friend’s myspace here) Sometimes he and I get together with a few friends for a movie and tequila shots. I’d always thought classical guys were stuffy until I met him LOL This guy can party with the best and follow it up with Beethoven!

But, you don’t know what you wanted to be when you grew up? And here I was starting to think you were more than a pretty face. LOL

You know, I think email is a rotten way to get to know someone and I’m really busy. I’m not online that much. What’s your phone number? I’ll call you sometime and we’ll have a coffee. I know the best place in Ft. Worth, the owner is an old friend of mine.

Cheers

*She didn’t send a reply. So, I changed my subject line to "Last chance" and sent her this*

I get it!

You’re really a 50 year old gay man with a shaved head and handlebar mustache and that’s why you won’t send me your phone number. LOL

Hey, I know that the average girl thinks she has to play a little hard to get. She doesn’t want to seem too easy. But, you know what? Guys hate that! I was just talking to my buds about it and we all agreed. We like girls that have a since of adventure and aren’t afraid to take a chance once in a while.

Look, I’m not a stalker and I haven’t eaten anyone for at least a month. I could be the most interesting thing to roll into your life since the wheel and you’ll never know it.

C’mon, just give me your phone number and I swear I won’t call you more than 50 times a day.

*Dave M suggested calling her “average” as no girl wants to be thought of that way. He also said to say that fun girls take chances and are adventurous. Then she sent me this*

well let me help you understand.

The reason girls dont give out their number is one of two things. either they dont like the guy or he is being way to forward in asking for it. (wink wink)

girls dont like to be treated like a piece of meat. The way a guy looks at me when I am out minding my own business is sick. which is part of the reason I am Bi-sexual.

example: say a 50 year old gay man with a shaved head and handlebar mustache was staring you down and asked you to go out with him. you would want to punch him in the face.

so it's not playing hard to get. its reality. Girl's hate that. FYI. so you can tell your buddies thats why they arent getting any ass. lol.

and yes if you are wondering I was offended by that message.

*At this point I was thinking if she had no interest in me, all she has to do was click a button and I’m deleted. She is sending me messages, so she must have SOME interest. Therefore, this must have been a shit test. I sent her this.*

Oh, so I guess this is the part where I’m supposed to cave in and say how sorry I am? LOL Get over yourself! You are a pretty girl, but you know what? Pretty girls are everywhere. I’m sitting in a coffee house right now two blocks from TCU and I can’t swing a dead cat without hitting a pretty girl.

I want to find out if there’s more to you than meets the eye. Am I supposed to be for sorry that?

I am a man of action. I don’t like to waste my time. Either you are worth my time or you are not.

So, you tell me, are you worth my time? What three qualities do you possess that would make me want to get to know you better?

This is where it stands this morning. At his writing, she has not opened my last message. I really don’t know what she’ll do.

Just my .02 but sometimes I can go a little too much on the cocky, and not enough of the smartass/funny side.
It's also easier to misinterpret things online also.

"Hey there,

(Good follow up also. To close her, I'd seed the number close by telling her some cool thing I'm doing this week or next, and describe it, to build her impulse, and possibly invite her to come along. Style does something similar to his great success)

*She didn’t send a reply. So, I changed my subject line to "Last chance" and sent her this*

I am not a PUA yet, as you can see from my post count. I have had success with online attraction, meeting, and closing over the years and while I was in college. I have been meeting women online since 2000, but have only recently decided that it was almost too much work. There are lots of obstacles, trust building, and it is never a sure thing even when you meet. It is like starting over. I am not saying that I am giving it up or it is not a good thing. It is very good, but like the other posters have said in the past and here, there is a greater chance of flaking. I am about to start my real world mission and will be taking wing apps very soon.

I want to offer some constructive criticism off my first impressions. I am only giving my opinion off of first read off the top of my head. I think you had a good first email, but tried to number close a little too fast. Oddly, "Insiders Internet Dating" is using almost word-for-word, David DeAngelo's 2001 ebook and 2003 Advanced Dating program material. I'm not saying that it doesn't work. I actually spent years trying cocky and funny through email, but as the others have said it does work better in person since it is hard to convey attitude appropriately via electronic communication and often times it is taken too far then ignored.
I haven't found the right balance online. Emoticons help lighten the mood, and following extreme statements, but can become trite and cheesy at a certain point if used too often. If she was a 10, then I can see where you are coming from. I have just recently learned cf should be more balanced in the beginning with any target lower than a 9 or it hurts your chances.
I can not believe I did not realize that before.

I enjoyed your blues playing. I am not sure if showing things like that work to your advantage as well early on. I find it to be an asset to show talents of that nature once they have proven they deserved it (if they are at your house). You seem like a very distinguished and intelligent man. I think you should shave the mustache. You will look younger. Also, your YouTube profile username might have turned her off. Good luck. Let us know the outcome.

Yeah, email is harder because you can't use tone and body language. But, it is a way to open and attempt to game an attractive woman you otherwise might never meet.

I blew this one. Her last reply: "actually I dont think I am worth your time. buh bye."

It seemed to me that I was going for the number close too soon as well. But, that what Dave M said to do in the program.

I know all the things I said in the email I could have said in person and gotten better results. I didn't want to write "I'm just kidding" because it felt like I was caving into her. So I tried the beauty destroyer instead. But, as you can see, it didn't work. LOL

Here's a link to her in case any of you guys want to give it a try. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=264172367

Does anybody know if she is on TV or something?

Live and learn. I've already got a 9.5 on the line. This time I'll wait until I get the number or blow it to post.

I would try it again if you have time. You got a reaction from her even though she gets countless emails a week. You are onto something.

I would suggest building a little bit more email attraction and comfort first before going for the number.

My constructive criticism. I like it for the most part. Here are my observations.

I saw that you asked for the number and after she blew it off you accused her of being a 50 year old gay man. What I like to do is precede the number request with the accusation. After two or three emails, I'll say something like, "I'm having a nice conversation with you, but I suspect I might find out you're a 50 year old gay man. I hate when that happens. I bet you your voice is more like Homer Simpson than Marge." That way I have her wanting to overcome my preconception of her. Also, I can call her Homer as a cute nickname. I would start the next email, "Hey, Homer, how have you been?" After accusing her of sounding like Homer Simpson a couple of times, she might offer the number so you can hear her voice. This is just an example, although I might use it myself.

Overall, I think C&F has to be more obviously funny in email. Without a sly smile or proper voice tonality, your words come off a little more cocky than funny. Instead of saying she's into herself, say she smells funny or has a hunch back. Something more obviously funny. That said, I think "get over yourself" seemed a little more hurt than playful. I like your message (I'm not sorry for wanting to know if you're more than a pretty face), but it might have been a little too pushy.

One more thing:
Hey, we’re both here to meet new people and the worst thing that could happen is I make a new friend. Right?

I’m hoping to hear from you.

Try to avoid the preemptive attempt to overcome her objections. And don't end the first email with a reason she should feel guilty for deleting it. Don't tell her in the first email that you're already emotionally invested in the interaction. That's what all guys do. It's needy. And it's not natural conversation.

I think the overall structure is good, but you could proof read your emails and edit, or just delete, the pushy or needy language.

I also want to add that I am very skeptical of bisexual 10s on myspace. Look at her friends list. They're all 17 year old bi girls from all over the world. People who don't have real friends aren't real people in my experience. Some of her friends have 1400 friends. I suspect that a lot of these bisexual 10s are guys trying to get in the bi girl network to look at private pictures. She could be real, but I'm skeptical.

One sheer sign of a fake is only having one picture. She had a lot though.

I like this thread. It intrigues me somewhat however I always come back to the same thoughts on the matter pretty quickly. To each his own but this is my perspective.

I have put effort into this in the past. Getting a girl's number from myspace or craigslist or whatever takes time. And effort. You gotta put up a good site and link it around, update it etc.. I have a job already thanks I don't need another one.

Writing a witty email takes way longer than telling a great story in person. BL is a huge factor you simply can not use. All this for a #close. I consider the internet a tool and use it accordingly. I use the extra time to screen more girls in person. I have found out over time that this is a numbers game.

(I note that this may be a method difference. I disagree here with some experts e.g. Captain Jack. I pivot my way into as many sets as needed in as many venues as needed - well - until I find the right girl with the right logistics for SNL or at least next day lay.).

The method of meeting online to first build comfort is counter productive in my eyes because you waste valuable time and effort. Human nature dictates that true comfort can only be built in person anyway. You will never truly trust someone until you look in their eyes. That is a fact. I had personal experience of this at 16 when I talked to a Russian chick for hours and hours in New York then flew out to see her. When we finally met it took her about 5 minutes to decide she didn't like me. I wasted countless hours for nothing.

I only play where the odds are in my favour. Girls are looking to get picked up at bars and clubs. If you can spot it they sometimes are in day game also and other social gatherings. I guess it depends on what you are looking for and where you are coming from.

That having been said lets see how this pickup pans out...
