And I was by myself. I'm sad to report I didn't make a single approach. I was at a local mall for about 1 1/2 hours. This AA thing is no joke. Before I left, I promised myself I would make 5 approaches. Whenever a potential set came and passed, I kicked myself's ass. "Shit fuck, what the hell brownie? Okay, next set."

Does anyone have any advice? Am I better off going with another newbie or what?

Oh, btw I'm 20 and decent-looking IMO.

I say if aa is really killing you...take baby steps...start by saying hi and creating small talk where ever you go...make this a habit....and then advance rather than going into a set where your extremely nervous and getting blown out with out even having the chance to make the connection. hope this helps!

I would def just try and start small if you're AA level is that high... Everytime you walk by a female...just smile and say hello. You don't need to approach after this, since the goal is to make this activity second nature.

I think you would be surprised at the ability this simple trick has to lower your nerves. Let us know your progress man...and best wishes.

I can't believe it or almost want to deny but i use to have this problem. I would take this advice though. Talk to anyone. For example: I was buying clothes and would chit chat with the cashier about these crazy prices just for me to look good in public. Chat with the average looking lady serving your food at TGI fridays or subway about "omg it's been a long day, oh really, yea me too, haha have a nice day".

Then escalate.

See a hottie shopping or... idk wtf/e just ask to help, or something random pertaining to what she's doing then once that subject you brought up is over, walk away. CAUTION!: if you do this step, and it works aka you get a good reaction... that doesn't mean your ready to drop a 20 line script on her ass. walk away. you did good for yourself by opening to them more, don't fuck your self and jump into something you "think" your ready for.

Escalate some more.

being the sets. But don't plan them. Like you said you were walking around a mall. Don't plan it, walk up on them as your walking past them or walking too them. "hey do you know where i can find X in the mall?" (sorry that is kind of broad but there are so many examples i can give it's dumb) there's a shit ton of things you can ask them if you think about it.

Gotta crawl before you can pick up numbers from HB's at the mall... let alone walk... :)

I feel your pain man!!
I for one have had this problem since I started the game, which I've been in for about a year - LTR time.
Honestly, it does go "down", but at least for me it has yet to fully go away!
Something I tried that really helped, is simply making small talk with cashiers/waiters/anyone that "has" to talk to you!!
It can be insanely intimidating to talk to someone that has no want to need to talk to you!!
But if you start off talking to people that are there "to talk to you".
It sort of eases you into feeling "natural" about talking to people you've just met!!

I for one, find it easy to actually have the conversation, but still hard to cold approach. Which may simply be me??

Cheers mate!!
