Fry Street

So I decide to check out Fry street for the first time after my Wednesday night class. It's early, so there's not a whole lot of people, but there is a bit of a scene going on as I walk into bar after bar. The district is so old, yet the locals are so comfortable and laid back in their surroundings, that they look like they belong to the street as much as the street lights and the neon signs.

I like the scene. But I feel old. And strange. Suddenly the Doors come to mind....

People are strange
When You're a Stranger
Face Look Ugly
When You're Alone
People seem wicked
When you're unwanted
Streets are uneven

The streets did seem uneven, but perhaps it was from looking up at the eclipse and trying to walk. I walk out of the sub shop and cross the street. Keep in mind I'm NOT in PUA mode and wonder how and old guy like me could ever approach anyone in such a tight-knit young and hip crowd. There are two girls standing on the sidewalk looking at the eclipse. When I finish crossing the street busy with cars pulling in and out, they open me with a barrage of questions.

Girl 1: Where's "The Drink"
Me: (Sub, drink, and chips in my hand). Mmmm... dunno, It's my first time here... but I think it's over there.
Girl 2: Where's the bathroom?
Me: I went into the English building. All the bars have bathrooms but I don't know if you would want to go into one, since they're not all that great. I guess it depends on what you're gonna do. (sly smirk on my face).
Girl 2: (Standing around very comfortably, looking at me)... yeah, I never sit down or touch anything.
Girl 1: She needs to pee.
Me: Um. Aha.
Girl 1: [Stomping away] OK Thaaank you.
Girl 2: Follows girl 1
Me: Aight.

Her: "Where's The Drink?"
You: "That's funny. I was gonna ask you the same thing. When are you buying me a drink?"

or

You: "Are you ALWAYS this demanding?"

or

You: "Is THAT your best pickup line? That may work on some pimple faced college guy, but I'm more experienced. So what else ya got?"

Fry St. is a great place for easy game. You can probably get away with damn near anything. I know I have. Every place keeps their music loud enough to hear, but low enough to talk. People are easy as shit to talk to, and even the "dance" club, The Drink, has the loft area with couches that aren't affected by the music...even live music.

Just watch out for underagers. Or be on the look out for them, depending on your "type" :P

Seeing that I was talking to a cute girl about her toilet habits a few seconds after seeing her, I would have to agree.

If anyone is out there early Wed night, message me. I don't like going to bars by myself. I have a wing, but she has to find a babysitter when we go out, and that's a pain in the ass.
