FR: Sherlocks/Blackfinn Sunday Night
Posted: Mon Feb 11, 2008 9:30 amJP2008, me and another PUA (I do not remember his handle; call him J for now) went to Sherlocks and Blackfinn on Sunday night.
The past two times I've been out I have been kind of frustrated at myself because I didn't feel like I was improving.
Fortunately, I had been analyzing my game and got some advice from a good friend of mine from Austin and was eager to try them out. I got to blackfinn around 10pm and the place was dead. JP was already in a 3 set (the only all female set) and J was opening some mixed sets. I wasn't comfortable was opening a mixed set so I decided to use that time to study their body language and listen in on their game.
Around 10:45 we decide to head to Sherlocks. This place was dead too. Again, I listened in on JP and J work their game on our waitress and it was defintely a great learning experience. We shoot the shit for about 45 minutes before we get bored and decide to go open the few sets that were available.
The first set I opened was a drunk haggy looking blonde that kind of scared me (she didnt look as bad when I did my passover then opener). I opened with who lies more and she ate that shit up. She kept touching me and I said Hey what are you doing, cause I remember mystery doing something similar except "his was this aint shit aint free or something".
Honestly, I think she was looking for an lay, and that fucked up her mood real quick or I wasnt being playful enough. Then I tried to transition into a story my vegas trip during christmas break, by telling her her hair reminded me of a stripper I met there. BIG mistake, she siad I am not a stripper and then began singing the song the band playing. So I blew myself out but not a big deal, my body langauge was much better then before (I was being too direct in the past) and she was being receptive until I f'ed it up.
The 2nd set I opened was an Albanian girl and her fat friend. I would rate albanian as a 3 and the fat friend a 2 (It was sunday night and I needed practice
) They were just sitting there doing nothing. I opened with jealous gf but made sure to give a false time constraint and angle my seat at a 90 degree angle (thx J!). Again very good reception. After talking about that for 5 minutes or so, J entered the set and was alittle too direct and they ended up leaving.
Finally, the last set was opened by JP. It was a two set but JP asked us to join him so we could have fun together. I was planned not so say much and just listen in, but things didnt work out that way.
I ended up hitting it off great with this half asian looking chick and I have never gotten as many IOIs as I have with this girl hb6.5. She kept touching my arm, laughing at my jokes (even some of the lamer ones) and asked a lot of question about myself. She also told me that she had been single for a long time (I intrepret that as I'm ready for a relationship) and even told me her age (35 cougar!). Things that I had NOT asked about her and were just things she sort of mentioned. I think those were prolly the biggest IOIs that she made with me. I did kino with her alittle but not as much as I would have liked, and I need to work on escalation as well.
I wanted to number close but since this was JP's set and he was trying to bounce her to breakfast I decided not to (though it is killing me because I want to know if she would have given to to me; sort of like a report card from school). All in all it was great fun, I felt I made improvement and I'm very pleased we were able to make a "dead" night into a live one.
Improvements:
Body Language; esp body position on openers (was being too direct before)
Transitioning into stories after openers/negs (was not doing it before)
Negs (I used to get really offended facial expressions, whoops!
)
Lacking:
Kino could be better
Escalation
Building more attraction (?)
Also I hate using canned openers, I've done original situational openers in the past but those are not always available. Eventually, I hope to not have to use any of the canned stuff.

. When I was kinoing I kept touching that hb half asian's waist, are there other areas to touch (ok sounds perverted). I get bored of touching teh same area over and over again (k that sounded even more perverted) 
). I think it is not necessarily an aspect of girls but that whole some people are fun drunks and some people are mean drunks thing, definitely some truth in that.
