Advice needed...

So I'm meeting the girl from my last post again on Friday (haven't seen her since last weekend but we've talked on the phone twice), we're gonna go see a movie I really want to see (The Mist) and then who knows. Right now we are "friends" with benefits however cliche that sounds. So my question is this --> Do I need to get her a Christmas present? My goal is to keep her in the "friends with benefits" zone. If so, what's the best gift to get that doesn't come across as lame and try-hard?

i would say nope, no present is needed. if everyone were to get all of their fuck buddies a gift then we'd be broke on presents alone.

if you still feel like you should, a good casual gift like a bottle of booze/wine would be good. that way ya'll can share it and its not something she would keep that would remind her of you everytime she looks at it. but your last post also said she doesnt drink, so if thats the case go for something equally as casual and disposable.

I think a good, neutral gift is to give her a copy of YOUR favorite book. It's kind of like qualifying her. She has to read it to get a connection to you. And it's a compliance test. If she reads it right away, then she's really into you.

An inssureance gift...

Something I've thought about doing for a couple of years but have never actually done is this... Get two or three items that I would use and wrap them like they were gifts intended for someone. Keep them in the car or in my jacket, whatever. These are just in case someone hands you a gift. You don't have to look stupid and say, "Oh, thank you but I didn't get you anything..." Now if someone gives you a gift you have one that you can just pull out of your pocket to hand to them, as if you were expecting this and had already bought it for them.

The key part is that it should be something that you would actually like to use yourself. This is in case you don't have to give it to anyone you can just use it later.

Or you could just give everyone a "Donation in their honor to the Human Fund.... Money for People!" It's a great charity. Just make the checks payable to Wesley.

It's great advice. I personally have not purchased a single gift yet this year although I will for my parents, nieces and nephews. I am on a mission to decommercialize Christmas among my siblings, friends and ladies.

Instead, I have been spending money going out to eat and or drinks and spending quality time with the ones I care about.

If you get something for ANYONE not just your FB's, it needs to be something that actually means something.

Like if they at one point made a comment to you about how their feet hurt because they are a waitress, and you get them insoles.... or a foot massage.

If they like to work on cars and have been trying to do a tune up but dont have (the tool required) to do that job, do it for them or get the tool.

Time is the best present of all, its free, valuable, and shows you actually enjoy being there with whomever.
