I went out tonight to Red River with a bunch of you dudes. I felt really good. I really feel like I've found my center again. The storm is over and now I'm in much calmer waters. And yes, I sarged sober, and I am sober now. No police incidents.

There was a time when I was on a roll. Lately, I hadn't had one good set in about 2 weeks, mainly due to my personal shit which I haven't kept very private as you all know.

The aftermath of it all is that I've realized I'm only really interested in 9's and 10's right now. I've realized that what I'm really looking for is to find someone better than my ex-girlfriend. So with that in mind, I feel so much less pressure to go out and "sarge" and I only am really opening girls who I feel have some kind of potential.

So tonight, I opened only one set, and then I left after evaluating the rest of the room, because I need to work tomorrow. The girl was a 9, blonde. Probably the hottest girl at Red River or one of. The set went really well, and I ejected on my own after like 5 to 10 minutes because she wasn't really what I was looking for. Went direct and honest.

Not an eventful field report, but hey, that's a very welcomed change!

Man, Cowboy's sucked donkey nuts last night.

I really do hate that place.

Sure, sets open pretty easily but it's hard as fuck to hear ANYTHING. When you've been drinking a little bit and you have to yell just to communicate, it becomes really, really hard to hide the fact that you've been drinking. I mean I was in a set and I slurred my speech a few times and I wasn't even drunk...fucking place blows.

Probably won't be back for a while.

And, I get to pay for this privilege...

I'm going to find a different venue for Thursdays. Period.

BTW, I'm not bitter I just sound it...I am irritated though because my fucking throat hurts from the Goddamn yelling!

Yeah my friend didn't like that place either. I just always seem to have decent success there.

Find a new Thursday place for us. I know Finn is half way decent since they have their VIP parties that night and it brings a decent crowd. However I would way rather go somewhere else since we typically go there Monday.

i was at BF last thursday and it wasn't all that crowded. Not to mention being there on thursdays, then usually a weekend night isn't the best...

it blows my mind that there isn't anywhere else that's good on Thursdays. there HAS to be somewhere, we just haven't found it. that should be college night.

Also, I wonder about some of these 18+ ellum dance deal places, i heard that one of them was good on thursdays but i forget which one. there's so many of those i don't ever go to - lizzard lounge, purgatory, all those.

yes, i too am sick of the old ladies, cover charges, and LOUDNESS at red river and am wanting to find somewhere new.

Grimm's right: Thurs is college night at most colleges.
I live in Denton (which is pretty far for most people on here)...but I think whoever suggested the SMU bars at one point might be on to something.
I've never been to any of those myself, but I think it'd be worth checking out.

I hadn't been out to Cowboys before, so I had to come check it out atleast once (despite the rep it's gotten on the board).
Have to agree on the general consensus though......meh.

There is nothing more frustrating than walking up to a set of what looks like potential 8s (from behind and in the dark) and having leatherface turn and smile at you.

Given that school's started again, and the crowds have returned, I'm probably going to stick to Denton during the week for the most part for a while.

Don't think I can give up BF on Mondays though...that's pretty one-of-a-kind.

I would say there is a 107% chance that I will never be going to Cowboys again. *horf*

Denton is great. The bars look like they're full of talent.
