The texting thing has become a lot bigger in the past few years. In college(i graduated 05) we didnt text, we used AIM, or called people.

A real revolution has come about with texting. Its where things are going, and I dont see it going back.

I usually do 2 texts the same day that I meet the girl. The first one I do immediately as soon as she gives me her number. It goes somehting like "Who is that cool guy who you just gave that number to"?
That puts her in the mood of knowing that I am a texter and as soon as she reads it in front of me she is all smiling.
The next text I send the same night before I go to bed. It goes something like... "I am glad I met you. Good night".

Maybe the second one sends of a BF vibe...I dont know. But I usually get a response everytime I send the second text.

Setting up a day 2 after that is a whole other story...LOL

I am learning women will respond if they feel a need to be polite. I mean if you say good night you are almost forcing them into a social norm situation where they have to text you back. Our parents conditioned us to be polite when someone tells us good night. Even when I date women with children the mom almost always makes her children tell me good night before she puts them to bed even though I am a stranger.

I say text at the point of getting the number and don't do it again that same day.

Don't worry about this one....pretty much any girl worth her grain of salt has at least one boy hovering around.

This is what I do when I am in this situation...put her into my call rotation. Decide you are going to call her again in a month, two months, six months, whatever. Then call her out of the blue and see where she is at.

I have had a lot of success with this. Just because it is bad timing doesn't mean she isn't into you. Just be patient.

Damn dude, good advice. I'm usually get so down when I get shut down that I take their number out of my phone and movie on.

I liked your idea though. Things change and people's desires change. A month from now she may be wanting a revenge fuck or a date or anything else. I'm going to try this. I'll take it out of my phone, but make a notebook of numbers and when I last contacted them.

I would try and myspace or facebook close her now as a "friend". And then leave her alone for a few months.

In a few months time, hit her up and see what she is up to. It sounds like she is not in a good place with her man right now. You probably validated her and it made her feel good to be hit on by someone she isn't fighting and having drama with.

She gave you her number. She politely responded to you and told you she is in a sort of relationship. These are good signs, just bad timing.

Give her a shout out later and see if her timing got any better.

HER ANSWER -

MY REPLY -

"He's not a lesbian is he? LOL JK good luck"

(the lesbian comment is callback humor from a joke we had on saturday night about an ex of mine with lesbian tendencies)

HER ANSWER -

"Thanks i had fun saturday glad i met you"

(that could possibly be callback on her part, because i made a point of telling her 'ashlee, i'm glad i met you' when i transitioned from qualifying to comfort. Or it could not be.)


Whatever so I'll leave it there. I'll take your advice and call her in a few months.
