FR: Friday, 7-3-2009

so my original intent last night was not to sarge, but rather celebrte a birthday of a friend. she had invited me out and the plan was to bar hop McKinney Ave. we began the night at Black Friar and after a few drinks, birthday girl was not feeling well so they decided to leave at 1130ish.

this left Lazarus and me alone, so we decided to sarge uptown. while at Black Friar, we just happen to run into El Fenix and we chit chat with him for a little while. El Fenix leaves and goes to kinki lounge. at some point, i had lost track of Lazarus, so i go on a search mission to see if he wanted to bounce to kinki and meet up with El Fenix and Matrix.

i find him and he was in a two set, doing very well. i interject, and told him that El Fenix had bounced and if he wanted to come with me to kinki lounge. following a quick discussion we decide to stay in uptown and i eject so that he can continue to game the set...

since i was only out with Lazarus, i was now a lone wolf; no familiar faces to talk to. i HAD to open. I HAD TO OPEN. i freeze and do not open ANY sets at black friar. after about 30 mins of AA, i met up with Lazarus at the outside bar. i needed to get into a talkative mood to open, so i decide to open a hired gun, she was DEFINITLY cute. i run game on her for about 15 mins and she seems genuinely interested, but she politely ejected as she had to continue doing her job. no big deal, it was good practice and put me in a good state, i was vibing!

so we bounced to Idle Rich, and as we're walking across the street, i decided, that i will become an opening machine tonight!!! (in reference to the claim i made in my other post: [url]http://www.dallaslair.org/p/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?32161[/url])

we walk in and within 5 minutes, i open an HB8 at the bar. blonde, very cute. interaction goes well, but i didnt feel it was a very solid hook so i eject (note to self, plow plow plow).

we move several feet away from the bar and there was a 5 set with 2 HB7's. i freeze for a second, but then opened the set and run game. i opened one of the average looking girls, as my strategy was to ignore the HB's (my targets) and then run the set; eventually engaging the HB's. after talking to Molly for about 10 minutes, i used the classic, "is that your friend? be polite and introduce..." she does and introduces me to HB7. i continue to talk to Molly and HB7 for a little bit longer before we ejected...

the set went fairly well but, i believe i focused too much on her friend rather then on the target. i also failed to engage the entire set.

Lazarus and i walked to another area of Idle Rich, when an HB7 walks by. i open with:

Prodigy: Where did you get that dress?! (in a its hideous looking kind of way)
HB7: Wait, do you like it?
Prodigy: Eh, its ok, but if you were wearing some cowboy boots, you'd be totally rockin!
HB7: Yea, all my friends have been giving me crap all night for wearing this dress. But i got it at XYZ store (i couldnt remember what she said)
Prodigy: haha, i can see why. you dont look like you fit in around here...you look like you should be in ft worth.
HB7: haha yea, i do have cowboy boots at home..!
Prodigy: you shoulve worn them, then you wouldve been unique, with the whole western look

we continue to talk for about another 10 mins before she politely ejects and says, "well i have to go use the restroom, but i'll be right back!"

..we then bounce to Madison, and then to Lotus. we get into lotus and once again, i am opening. i open a tall brunette HB6.5, two asian girls, two blondes, an HB6 and HB7. i even get some girls to buy me and Lazarus a shot of patron, the best part? it was on some OTHER DUDE'S tab that was trying to game them! lol haha it was classic!

we then went to hotel ZaZa. as we were walking to zaza, there was an HB8 taht was a cocktail waitress taking a smoke break. so i walk up and open her.

Prodigy: hey can i bum a smoke?
HB8: no i only have one. the rest of them are in my locker
Prodigy: o ok, thats cool. how is it inside?
HB8: its ok, it has kind of died down, but when im done with my break, i'll come find you and bring you a cigarette
Prodigy: haha alright cool

Lazarus and i walk inside and there was not really much to work with. but then i see HB8, cocktail waitress. she walks up and hands me a cigarette (im surprised she actually followed through. taking this as a sign of attraction, i decided to go direct)

Prodigy: [ i grab the cigarette and stick over my ear] thanks, but i dont even smoke
HB8: whatever..!
Prodigy: yea, the only reason i asked for one was because i thought you were cute and just had to say hi!
HB8: hahaha, thanks!
Prodigy: i'm Prodigy, whats your name?
HB8: i'm Ren...
Prodigy: so its pretty dead in here, whats the deal?
HB8: yea well its pretty late, but you should come out during the day, its much busier...
Prodigy: Really?
HB8: yea, i wear a bikini and there are a ton of people in the pool..
Prodigy: haha, so thats how you make the money!
HB8: well i usually am the bartender too, so i do ok...

after a few more exchanges, i eject as it wasnt really going anywhere...

overall i had a pretty good night. i opened a ton of sets, most hooked and i had several good interactions that i couldve easily number closed but didnt. i didnt number close because i did not foresee myself pursuing anything further with those girls. my goal was to open, get some practice and work on my AA, which is exactly what i did. goal accomplished.

last night was one step closer to becoming a great PUA.

Positives:
- I OPENED
- good body language
- good state/vibe
- confidence
- very social

Things to work on:
- plowing through sets
- better story telling to create more interest
- open hotter chicks (HB8's)
- number close for the sake of number close even if i dont pursue

Nice FR. You are the only one on here writing up good field reports it seems lately.

Anyways that statement right there is what I find to be the most important of the entire FR. Even if you know for a fact you are going to delete the number right after you get it still go after it. Think about it. You get really good at opening. After all if you don't open you never close. But you get good at opening and then you never figure out how to close. You will be know as the greatest opener in the world yet you never get a girl. So I say go for the number always if there is even the slightest chance she will give it out.

It is just essential to be a really good closer. Just as important as opening IMO.
