Joined the forum for some cameraderie and hopefully some solid insight. Thought I'd get some feedback on an intriguing opportunity. I get takeout from an Italian place 1 block away from my office and show up to find an HB 8.5 acting as hostess and also in charge of dishing out the takeout.
Me: busy night, blah, blah, blah. How much?
HB: $23, but your veal parm isn't ready yet you'll have to wait a few minutes.
Me: I'll be back. Leave walk around block listening to IPOD. Taking my time.
On my way back to the restaurant, HB 8.5 comes running up the sidewalk trying to wave me down to give me my veal parm because she thinks I've forgotten it.
Me: Wow! You are such a go getter. I would have come back (or something simliar can't quite remember). Anyway that all went well.
Next day, I see her coming out of parking garage and going to work. Catch up to her.
Me: I owe you one.
HB: surprised, confused. What? Why?
Me: Last night you saved me from starvation by running my veal parm out to me on the street.
HB: smiles, get it. Ohhh yeah.
Now we are at the restaurant door.
Me: Is it your job to open this place up?
HB: walking in door. Not alone.
Me: Thanks again for last night. Don't feel comfortable busting in to unopened restaurant. She already 1/2 way in door obviously almost late for work. Leave.
Critique? Next steps?
